There is a magnet behind the Think Tank logo which holds the flap in place. The flap conceals a zippered pocket for holding filters and the like. When you lift the flap you will see another zipper that runs around two sides and the front of the main camera compartment. If you open the zipper, the top of the bag hinges backward, revealing the camera, and you can then lift it up and out. If you leave the zipper open, you can simply put down the flap and the magnet will hold it in place. In that case, just lift the flap and the camera is accessible. But the magnet is not exceptionally strong, so use care when the top is secured only by the magnet.
