The 500' Camplex opticalCON DUO Single-Mode Fiber Tactical Cable Reel 500'from Camplex opticalCON DUO Single-Mode Fiber Tactical Cable Reel 500'is a two fiber broadcast interconnect cable with a heavy duty tactical reel. It features a Neutrik opticalCON DUO NO2SX connector on each end, COCA factory terminated and interferometrically tested to GR-326-CORE endface standards. The connectors have common LC contacts and a mechanical shutter system that shields against endface contamination. The cable is tested for < -55dB typical return and comes with diagnostics documentation. The reel includes a side reel flange.

The connectors are assembled using the Neutrik opticalCON ADVANCED system, which adds lockable, waterproof metal caps and rubber guards, especially critical for outdoor applications. This improves the cable protection and water resistance in long-term use.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can a camera sync cable be used instead of the remote?

A: absolutely! sync port is a mini phone on the bottom backside of the light.

Q: 2. Does the D2 need to be fired by Air Remote TTL to get 10 frames per sec or will it work with Pocket Wizards etc.?

A: Does work with the Pocket Wizard.

Q: 3. I have the D1 Air 500. The power cord often comes a little loose, causing me to lose power, especially when I have the strobe in almost vertical position. I've tried taping the cord in place, but it still comes loose. Does anyone else have this problem? I wonder if this right angle type of plug would help. Might be easier to secure with tape. It's so much cheaper than the Profoto cord, but I assume it would work just as well, right? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/917037-REG/c2g_27909_10_18_awg_universal.html

A: For the D1 or D2 you would want to use this cable https://bhpho.to/2VF2E0N. Its a heavier gauge and designed to be able to handle the load of the flash. Using the thinner cable can run into issues with power delivery. Cables will wear over time and need to be replaced.

Q: 4. Will the shaft of the 72" Wescott umbrella fit the D2?

A: Yes it will fit.

Q: 5. Can the moonlight be plugged into a battery pack?

A: Absolutely! It has a feature in the special settings that allows for the light's speed to be adjusted for different power sources. Just make sure you set the light to the appropriate speed level while plugged into a main power source, then you'll be go to go on location.

Q: 6. Will the profoto D2 fire in HHS (1/8000 sec) with a sync cable instead of using the air remote?

A: Unfortunately, HSS can only be utilized with the Profoto Air TTL remotes which are camera specific.

Q: 7. I’m currently using a D1/500 with the Air Remote TTL-N. Will the D2 fire wireless in tandem with this set up?

A: You have to also connect the D2 Fixture in the same Group, or it's own channel.

Q: 8. will this work on a Fujifilm camera?

A: You can use this monolight with a Fujifilm X series camera with the help of the Profoto Air Remote Transceiver B&H # PRAR. The monolight is manually controlled in terms of output, but this remote will allow to control the power settings from the camera position as well as fire it. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 9. If I buy Air Remote for Canon, could I use it also, for say, a Hasselbad or another camera system?

A: No, canon stuff is always a little wonky as Canon likes to lock there stuff from using non canon products. The Nikon TTL remote does work on other though.

Q: 10. Can I put the glass dome on it?

A: Yes, the Profoto Glass Dome for D1 and B1 Monolights (Frosted, Minus 300K), BH # PRGD300D1 would be compatible. http://bhpho.to/3clzwWm

[9 µm] Cable worked as expected. We use it for our field camera on football game days. We can move all over the field without a signal drop.

[9 µm] For Tactical fiber cables, these are ultra light weight, but they do take a beating! Great Cables!

[12.95 lb] While I wasn't a fan of the cost at first, this is certainly a product where we are getting what we paid for. Cars and trucks of all sizes run over these cables all the time while we are trying to set things up, and after a year, the cables still look new- no signs of damage or even wear. They have sat outside for over a month at a time, in the rain and snow (minus the ends), and they just work great.

[-55 to -45 dB] We have been using four TFS DuraTAC fiber reels for outdoor events over the past three years without any issues. Cable diameter is slightly less than competitive cables but they are more durable because they are reinforced with stainless steel armored tubing. Highly recommended!

[12.95 lb] We use this to get audio/video to the front and back of large conference rooms, works great. The cable is only as thick as a single regular XLR cable.
