Q: 1. I would like to derive audio wordclock from HDMI. My ADC will accept AES as wordclock. Can I use this with CONVMBHS24K6G "HDMI to SDI 6G Mini Converter" to embed silent audio (perhaps from unconnected analog inputs?) and then extract the silence to use as wordclock with this device?

A: I'm not sure if it is necessary to feed silent audio but you certainly can. If there is no audio on an SDI track the AES audio out will be silent.

Q: 2. Will this upscale 720p to 1080p?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 3. what's the delay of this conversion? will it maintain audio?

A: The delay can be up to 2 frames based upon conversion type. Audio will be maintained.

Q: 4. could this be used to extend 4 independent HD-SDi signals? trying to find a 4in 4out HDSDI amp.

A: It cannot, this product is a Multiplexer that is designed to convert 4k to UHD through the various varieties of SDI connection. If you wanted to split a single SDI signal out 4 ways you would need the Mini Converter SDI Distribution 4K, which actually will allow you to split the signal up to 8 HD-SDI connections. A: Yes you can convert 1080 to SD. The Setup utility lets you configure the SD aspect ratio if you need it.

A: According to Blackmagic Design, The Mini Converter SDI to HDMI has a delay of less than a single line of video, except when it needs to convert PsF to P, which will take one frame. The Analog to SDI has a four line delay.

Q: 8. Will this convert 1080i 59.94 to 1080i 29.97?

A: No. As Brian C. mentioned there is a 1080PsF@29.97 or 1080p@29.97 but not 1080i. The progressive segmented frame (PsF) is ideal when converting interlaced to progressive I think...

Q: 9. Can this convert HDMI 1080p to HDMI 1080i?

A: Yes, it will converter HDMI 1080p to HDMI and SDI simultaneously to 1080i.

Q: 10. Do I have embedded audio singal on the SDI-output of this converter?

A: This converter will de-embed audio from the SDI Input. The SDI Output will be the same as the SDI Input. No change to the signal. So if there is audio on the SDI input, there will be audio on the SDI output.

[0.085 lb] This is exactly what I needed. I just upgraded to a new laptop and prot replicator and needed these to connect the two monitors to the diplay adapter ports. I call ed customer service to be sure I was getting what I needed and they were very helpful ! 5

[0.085 lb] I received a free sample of this travel converter and it works perfectly. Suits all my needs when utilizing this for presentations when I`m traveling or just using it in the office. The quality is great and the picture display is crisp. I use a Mac at work and a MacNook when traveling and this is interchangeable between both, especially when dealing with older VGA setups. I keep it tucked away in my laptop bag and it hasn`t had an issue to date. 5

[0.085 lb] I use both Apple & PC computers, I have a 24 Apple monitor that I used for business presentations on occasion. With all the Pico / Portable projectors available I was able to lighten my travel load, but what do I do with my Apple monitor? This Link DVI allowed me to connect my 24 Apple monitor to my Windows PC and it works great. Gave away my old 24 Gateway monitor. I'm very happy with the purchase.
