A: YES. It is just like any umbrella you would use for going out in the rain (except without a handle). Collapses and slides into a storage sleeve. Very compact. Slide the metal shaft into an umbrella holder and mount on a light stand. I have two of these. They are great and inexpensive. The cover comes off so you can shoot through the white umbrella with your flash or flip it around and then put the silver/black reflector cover on and use the umbrella to reflect your flash back to your subject for a little more light control. I can do large group shots with two of these. One on camera left and camera right. You will need a system to fire your flashes or strobes remotely.

A: The Black cover can be completely removed or partially. The black cover is removed with the umbrella completely folded. The protective cap is unscrewed so you can remove the cover.
