The Dot Line 4.5" Vacuum Cup 1/4"-20 Postsecurely attaches to car windows, doors, hoods, and other smooth surfaces and supports camera/accessory loads up to 50 lb. It uses a push-pump mechanism to pump the air out between the cup and mounting surface, and a red line imprinted on the pump lets you know whether any air is left or has seeped back in. The cup is 4.5" in diameter and features a 1/4"-20 post fixed on top. The post supports cameras, lights, mics, and other accessories, ideally via articulating arms and ball heads.

The pump requires just several pushes to get all the air out. With each push, a part of the pump gets depressed inside, with less of it protruding on the outside. The point at which the red line on the pump is also depressed signifies that all air is completely pumped out. When the red line reappears, it indicates that some air has entered back in and simply needs to be pumped out again. Two nibs on the edges of the cup let you easily release the vacuum grip. A protective cap is included for avoiding scratches during storage to maintain suction strength.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi,What is the camera weight that FloPod can stablize?

A: The Dot Line RPS Studio FloPod I Video Stabilizer will support up to 8lbs.

Q: 2. What is the limit on the weight each arm can handle without drooping?

A: When using the Brackets Dot Line DL-0550 Flexible Macro Light Bracket each arm can handle 15 oz. without drooping.

Q: 3. Does this lens hood have male threads so that it can screw onto the front of a 67mm lens filter?

A: Yes, the Dot Line Tele-Wide Lens Hoods, including the 67mm size have threads both in the front and back of the hood.

Q: 4. What are the dimensions? (ie. outer diameter, as well as depth from back to front)

A: Dot Line states that the outer diameter of the Dot Line Tele-Wide 77mm Lens Hoods at the widest point is 4-1/8 inches, and the depth of the hood when extended is 2-5/16 inches tall.

Q: 5. I have the Magic Rig already. I would just like to know where I can find a new QR plate for it? I would like to swap cameras faster when I need to.

A: Unfortunately we do not currently sell this quick release plate separately, however, any Arca style quick release plate should be compatible with this quick release system, such as the Photo Clam PC-59-UP3 Universal Camera Plate.

Q: 6. Does the Dot Line DLC fit the Olympus Pen F?

A: It would depend on the thread in the Pen F shutter button. If it accepts a standard mechanical remote release (i.e., the cable variety) I'd say yes. The DLC fit my Fujifilm X-E2 just fine. One warning: mine fell out and was lost. A replacement has remained in place -- after treating the new button thread with a touch of Loctite Blue.

Q: 7. Does it work on the Fuji XT_10 ?

A: I have XT 20 and it worked on that. You have to be careful, it unscrews easily

Q: 8. Canon 7D II with 100-400 II and wondering if anyone has used this with a Kirk foot?

A: I have not used this with a Kirk foot. I am quite familiar with Kirk Products and use the Cobra Head for most of my action photography using up to 800mm on a Dx Body. I used the particular handgrip for my Sony Action Cam while skiing. It worked well and felt balanced in my hand.

Q: 9. Has anyone used this with the lomokino 35mm film camera? As they have discontinued the original handgrip and I am trying to find an alternative.

A: This will work with the Lomography LomoKino 35mm Film Camera B&H # LOK35 very well.

Q: 10. (1) does the front of the hood have filter threads so I can attach filters without removing the hood?(2) if so, does the filter thread also have a 62mm size?

A: This hood does not have front threads and attaching a filter to the end of a lens hood is generally not recommended as you run the risk of any blemishes on either side of the filter coming or approaching being in focus.

[1/4"-20] Working as a production assistant and a script supervisor, the clapboard sped up my work process as opposed to using digital apps. This and other AC gear that I've bought at B&H has opened up more job opportunities and experiences within the film industry. Massive lifesaver!

[0.715 lb] I use this for mounting an action camera through the windshield of my car; I have previously used another physically smaller brand of suction cup, which worked fine with the camera mounted directly on it, but with an extension arm, had some jiggle movement of the camera. With this cup, and the extension, absolutely stable, no jello cam! I believe it is sturdy enough to mount an even heavier camera if I had to. Good Product.

[50 lb (22.7 kg)] Decent and good for use. It gets the job done. The screws for the arm might require a bit tightening but work great.

[1/4"-20] Not much to it, a standard clapper. There are a few bolts that will let you adjust the tension of the upper part of the clapper. This is great to organize scenes, cameras, or color pick the middle grey on the clapper for white balance adjustments.
