5.75" Vacuum Cup With Ballhead & Quick Release

$521.85 $741.03

The 5.75" Vacuum Cup with Ballhead & Quick Releasesecurely attaches to car windows, doors, hoods, and other smooth surfaces and supports camera/accessory loads up to 50 lb. It uses a push-pump mechanism to pump the air out between the cup and mounting surface, and a red line imprinted on the pump lets you know whether any air is left or has seeped back in. The cup is 5.75" in diameter and features a ballhead with a quick release adapter and 1/4"-20 post fixed on top. The quick release adapter removes from the post to let you efficiently attach other equipment. The 1/4"-20 post supports cameras, lights, mics, and other accessories, and the ballhead can be rotated, tilted, and swiveled.

The pump requires just several pushes to get all the air out. With each push, a part of the pump gets depressed inside, less of it protruding on the outside. The point at which the red line on the pump is also depressed signifies that all air is completely pumped out. When the red line reappears, it indicates that some air has entered back in and simply needs to be pumped out again. Two nibs on the edges of the cup let you easily release the vacuum grip. A protective cap is included for avoiding scratches during storage to help maintain suction strength.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this head be attached to a video tripod or video monopod from Benro?

A: Yes, this can be attached to any tri or monopod with a 3/8 -16 sized mount.

Q: 2. Could I use Ballhead with Quick Release on it ?

A: Yes, one can use the Slik SBH-100 DQ Compact Ballhead 100 with Quick Release on it.

Q: 3. Is this ball head (Kirk BH-1) goes on tripod Manfrotto 190XPRO3 without any problems?

A: I don't own this particular Manfrotto leg set (Although I do have a similar set.), but from its description on the B&H site it looks like it should. The Kirks are excellent ballheads (I did order out both this and the Arca Swiss Monoball Z from B&H and elected to keep the latter, which I paired with Gitzo legs, also from B&H) and should fit on any set of legs with the standard 1/4 inch screw. Hope this helps.

Q: 4. How much range does the tension/drag knob have? I read one review that stated the tension range is very limited. The tension is basically on or off without much range at all. Is this true?

A: This is a superb head. As such, it is designed to do what is needed for pro level work. Not being able to supply the amount of tension desired by a variety of photographers would be a severe design failure. You can adjust the amount of ball tension to your desired amount. The large knob is the Main Lock Knob. The small knob on the opposite side is the Variable Tension Knob. First tighten the Main Lock Knob then the Variable Tension Knob. Then loosen Main Lock Knob all the way, and then loosen the Variable Tension Knob to tension taste.

Q: 5. Any word on whether or not the RRS PC-LR and the Kirk BH-1 are compatible? I've asked reps from both companies and have not been given a definite yes/no. Thanks!

A: I am not familiar with the RRS PC -LR.

Q: 6. I have an old Silk U-212. Will this ball head fit it?

A: Unfortunately this head will not fit on the U212. The base threading on the head is 1/4-20" and the stud coming out of the tripod is 3/8".

Q: 7. I am interested to know if the Kirk BH-1 would pair up with the Fesiol Ct3442 tripod. This tripod allows for a smaller package by folding back on itself 180 degree's. Will this ball head allow this to occur?

A: Yes, it will pair up, and it will fold back up but the legs will not be as close together as they would be otherwise and therefore that combo won't fit in the given Feisol tripod bag.

Q: 8. Will the Benro BH-00 clamp fit Peak Design's Arcaplate

A: Unfortunately, this clamp on this Benro head would not fit the Peak Design Arca Plate.

Q: 9. Can it be used in the water? like in a pool for filming swimmers

A: This is not designed to be used on wet surfaces. Surfaces should be smooth and dry when the mount is applied. It cannot be expected to function correctly if submerged.

Q: 10. Would I be able to still reverse close my Mefoto GlobeTrotter Classic with this ballhead?

A: The tripod will not close as tightly as it can with the original ballhead. This ball head is bigger and wider than that head.

[1/4"-20] I use three of these heads on light stands for speedlite flashes. The quick release function works smoothly. I don't use the heads for the camera very often, but they work reasonably well for that application.

[50 lb (22.7 kg)] A nice ball head but really this is a shout out to the great B&H staffer who helped me today. I needed a gorilla pod SLR-Zoom tripod but I have two cameras. I wanted the Ballhead for the gorilla pod but Joby does not sell spare plates. I did not want to buy two ball heads. This Benro ball head fits the gorilla pod well and can take standard plates (I actually got an Oben one). Excellent solution from the B&H staff member. That is why I will always come to B&H for my photography equipment

[1.8 lb] Used this after much research to construct my own video car kit.I needed a product that would not fail me as it could be very costly or dangerous if it did very well made professional product

[5.75" (14.6 cm)] Durable all-metal construction, the quick release plate has a D-ring so you can attach it without using a screwdriver, and the locking knob is progressive so you can be confident that it's tight and won't come loose. Unlocking the knob allows angling the plate in any direction as well as swiveling the base, a nice feature. I use two of these on my DSLR cage to attach a Marshall field monitor and a Tascam field recorder. It would have been nice to have a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter come with it but that's not a big deal.

[1/4"-20] I was looking for a decent ball head for my Manfrotto monopod and this is exactly what I needed. Solid build, simple operation, right price.

[1/4"-20] I love this ball head for a lot of reasons It was very reasonably priced and it just feels solid when you use it. I have this mounted on my custom built time lapse dolly and I love using it. The only downside is if you plan on using it for video then it can be hard to pan and tilt smoothly without a drag knob.

[5.75" (14.6 cm)] I use this for mounting an action camera through the windshield of my car; I have previously used another physically smaller brand of suction cup, which worked fine with the camera mounted directly on it, but with an extension arm, had some jiggle movement of the camera. With this cup, and the extension, absolutely stable, no jello cam! I believe it is sturdy enough to mount an even heavier camera if I had to. Good Product.

[1/4"-20] I purchased one of these from B&H 15 years ago and it has been my main ball head ever since for general landscape and macro photography. I had several other ball heads before that that never lasted as long as this one has. I chose it primarily because the L shaped locking lever is much easier to operate than the knobs of previous ball heads I owned. Like the other reviewer I have worried that the plastic lever could easily break, but mine has held up. I have had to tighten the small hex screw that holds it in place occasionally, though. With all that said, I paid considerably less for it 15 years ago and I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the current asking if I had to replace it.

[1/4"-20] Love this for my monopod. I need to look at other tripod heads made by Giottos. Great product and worth the money.
