The Klark Teknik DN9650 Digital Network Bridgeprovides a multichannel interface between AES50 networks and 3rd-party digital audio networks and point-to-point interfaces. The AES50 and 3rd-party interfaces operate in separate clock domains and are connected by a bidirectional asynchronous sample rate converter (ASRC). This technology allows the interfacing of up to 64 bidirectional channels between two independently clocked domains, which can also operate at different sampler rates.

The DN9650 is future-proof by being able to support new and emerging protocols via its expansion slot, which is compatible with Cirrus CM-1 format, offering compatibility with Klark Teknik KT-AES50, KT-DANTE64, KT-MADI and KT-USB network modules. The DN9650 works with all Midas Pro Series digital consoles, Midas digital I/O hardware, and other 96 kHz-enabled AES50 devices with Dante, MADI and USB 2.0 connections.

The DN9650 features status LED indicators for AES50 and network synchronization, Ethernet control port activity, and the ASRC bypass and bidirectional output clock inhibit functions on the front panel for ‘at a glance’ status display, even at wide distances and viewing angles. The rear panel utilizes Neutrik etherCON connectors for the three AES50 ports and the Ethernet control port, while word clock inputs and outputs, as well as video black burst sync use Neutrik BNC connectors. The onboard web server allows for platform-independent configuration using a web browser application, allowing for simple user selection of network module and DN9650 settings, including AES50 and third-party network domain sample rates, clock synchronization for both domains and the ASRC bypass and bidirectional output clock inhibit functions.

[15.35 lb] We are using this for a computer output (display port to HDMI, not included). The quality is very good for HD-SDI. We have used BlackMagic in the past but this is a very good product. We have two now and have had no issues. Our old BlackMagic devices have had power supplies go bad but not the Digital Forecast device. 5

[15.35 lb] We needed to extend our wifi to a new building on our campus. These are as close to plug-and-play as you are going to get. They are preconfigured so all we had to do was set them up and adopt them into our existing Ubiquiti Network. 5

[15.35 lb] This thing is well worth the price, as we use a separate computer to mix our broadcast audio through a DAW. This thing allows us to have that computer in our broadcast studio with no loss of audio quality! Much better than running 100ft of USB, if it would even send anything at that range. 5

[15.35 lb] Great app for adjusting your lights without having to use the small display on the trigger or moving from where you're shooting. I shoot tethered in the studio, so I can see an image, make any adjustments on the lighting power, etc. in another window on my laptop, and shoot. 5

[15.35 lb] When I received the Elinchrom, I had to update the firmware which took me a while to figure out. It wasn't hard, just had to find it on their site. Once I powered it up and searched for and found my lights, I was able to verify my lights had updated firmware. I've been playing with it for a few days and it's nice to be able to control the lights on my Elinchrom Skyport Bridge iPhone app. 5

[15.35 lb] Ordered Saturday at 2135 ET; promised for Tuesday delivery; delivered to my Philadelphia location Monday mid-afternoon. Configured on Tuesday; installed and aligned Wednesday morning bridging an 80M gap. Provided mission critical communication including for a Simulated Emergency Test on Friday and Saturday. My second one of these UBBs. This one replacing the first which failed due to water damage and which Ubiquiti says they will replace, but the item is backordered at Ubiquiti, but not at B&H. 73 de K3FZT / Steve The only downside of buying Ubiquiti from B&H (any retailer) is that the warranty through a retailer is one (1) year and through the Ubiquiti online store it's two (2) years. 5

[15.35 lb] I use an Elinchrom EL Skyport triger which has the ability to control the lights from my camera. However, the Skyport requires a number of button pushes to adjust several lights. Ok, I'm whining. The bridge let's me adjust four groups of lights (in my case four lights) with an easy iPhone touch control. The one small ding on the device is that I had trouble getting it to initially sync up with my iPhone. After a good bit of fiddling, I followed the instruction to first update the Skyport Bridge software. That did the trick. I'm surprised, but probably shouldn't be, that manufacturers sell a product that needs an update right out of the box before it will perform a basic function. As I said, it's a small point. 5

Though the manufacturer had been out of stock for some time the tea from B&H kept me updated until the entity was available and it was s hipped immediately. [15.35 lb] I'm a big fan of all ubiquiti products. This one is no exception. Not cheap but hugely useful is you want to port a network connection between two buildings or over a significant distance and running Ethernet cable is not an option. These paired transponders make set up and management very turnkey. 5
