The FreeWave Viewer VL AV & Shutter Release Cable for Canon 5D Mark II from Vello will connect your camera to the FreeWave Viewer VL transmitter and allow the transmitter to send a live preview feed to the viewer. One end of the cable connects to the transmitter, and the other end to the camera. The side of the cable that connects to the camera splits in two; one side is a 3.5mm AV connection for sending the video signal to your viewer, and the other is a 3 pin connection for the shutter release to fire the camera.

One end of the above cable is designed to plug into the Vello FreeWave Viewer, and the other end is designed to plug into the A/V OUT Terminal on the side of the camera, shown on both pages 16 and 157 of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR Camera's instruction manual.

A: I learned too late that it does not currently work with the 7D Mk II. Previous models of the Canon cameras use a mini USB to transfer the video, but the 7D uses a micro USB. B&H said the do not currently have a cable that will fit that configuration. Kudos to B&H for prompt phone service and a full refund.
