A: This C-stand would be better for space since you can prop the legs against the wall.

A: C stands with permanent legs not a turtle base are an issue for travel. The stand is about about 53 inches x 22 inches. B&H does not carry a case that large. The C stands with legs that come off are much smaller in the width. Those types give you some case options.

Q: 6. Has anyone washed this in the machine, cold water, gentle cycle? Was it okay afterward?

A: This can be machine washed.

Q: 7. I'm confused about Chrome-plated variant (152$) Vs Black variant(124$). The price is substantiallydifferent. Is there really a big advantage by going into Chrome plated versionwhen it comes to durability and sturdiness? or black version is just as good in the sturdiness ?

A: The functionality is virtually identical. Cosmetically, the black will scratch more readily.

A: This stand is painted black which holds up pretty well. I have only had issues of it scratching off were I tighten the screw to mount the light

A: No, the A-Designs REDDI Mono All-Tube Direct Box with Throughput does not let Phantom Power pass through the device.
