A: The functionality is virtually identical. Cosmetically, the black will scratch more readily.

A: This C-stand would be better for space since you can prop the legs against the wall.

A: This is a good boom, I like it a lot, good quality and heavy-duty (which you wouldn't guess from the name mini ). Due to limited space in my studio, my favorite stand by far is Photogenic PHTA34MS58 8' Light Stand with 19 Caster Base. Works great with this boom. The caster base is heavy, the wheels roll very smoothly, and the small footprint is wonderful, so much nicer in the studio than the typical tripod light stands (been there done that, I replaced them all with these 19 caster base Photogenic stands).

Q: 6. Are there any casters for this stand?

A: Tether Tools makes a caster stand that I use with this C stand. You can place a sand bag right in the center of the caster stand for stability.

Q: 7. can these batteries be used with Impact studio strobes?

A: No, the battery is used in a Lumadyne pack. And the connections are basically for Lumidyne lights only.

A: Not directly. You'll need some kind of adapter from the 5/8 fitting to perhaps some kind of quick release adapter like Arca-swiss. Talk to the folks at Hejnar Photo they make a lot of fit-this-to-that type of adapters.
