With dimensions of 2 x 1.3", the Arca-Swiss Variokit MonoballFix Cameraplate Hasselbladfrom Arca-Swiss Variokit MonoballFix Cameraplate Hasselbladis designed for use with most Hasselblad cameras. Featuring the Variokit designation, this model can have its dovetail rotated to be perpendicular to the plate itself, allowing you to move the camera horizontally. It is compatible with the classic Arca-Swiss monoballFix quick release system so you can easily attach or detach your camera from the tripod while shooting. Made of aluminum for durability, the plate attaches to your camera via a standard 1/4"-20 screw.

Q: 1. What is the purpose of the pins? Why should I get this plate for my Canon 7D instead of a cheaper plate without the pins?

A: The pin, there is only one, simply assists to help place the plate accurately on the base of a camera i.e. parallel to the body. The plate actually has more holes for the pin, i.e. fits more cameras, than the diagram reveals but should suit your Canon just fine (though, caution, I use Nikon). However, it's not essential to use it and, at least in my case, the pin came separated from the plate. So, fit it or not. My reason for choosing this plate versus the other is its length. I want stability, so the more length the better, in my view. Aesthetically, on the Nikon, it sits/looks better too, than the square version does, but hardly a reason to drive a purchase decision, As for price, it's just a few dollars more, they are very close. I guess you pay for the extra length.

Q: 2. Arca-Swiss Cameraplate Index monoball Fix is compatible with a pin hole fitting Sigma sd Quattro? Thanks.

A: That camera is not listed as tested by Arca-Swiss. We have the opinion that there is a very good chance the locating pin will work.

Q: 3. is this compatible with 1dx canon camera with a 70-200 mm 2.8 lens?

A: I have this on a Nikon 750 body and do not use large lenses on this body. It would work but this plate is not as substantial as a full size arcs-swiss compatible plate.

A: Sorry for late reply. I don't have 1dx but this plate fit for my 5DMKIII.

A: The minimum distance between bolt centers is about 8mm.

[0.125 lb] High quality product. Fits the Arca Swiss pO Classic perfectly. It goes into the narrow channel between the 2 small pins which stops it slipping out even when the clamp isn't done up tightly. Attaches to the 5D3 nicely. The supplied locator pin (which is probably easy to lose if the plate is removed) prevents rotation of the plate.Apart from the price it's perfect. 5

[Aluminum] This is an absolute requirement in order to attach either a camera or lens to the superior margin of the Arca-Swiss Monoball X-Table System. The Cameraplate 75 for MonoballFix screws into the connecting points of either a camera or lens supporting ring and in turn connects to what appears to be an Arca-Swiss Monoball Fix Quickset Device attached to the upper surface of the X-Table System. The attachment of camera and/or lens appears to be secure and stable. 5

[Aluminum] I had some doubts before I order this product whether it would fit on my Contax 645. I wanted the pins to keep the heavy camera from slipping, especially in portrait orientation. Unable to find a measurement from the mounting screw to the pins I took a chance, and it fits perfectly. It's another precision made and expensive device made by Arca Swiss. Its actually two pieces of metal that fit inside each other and can be completely separated. Mine came with an allen wrench! 5

[0.125 lb] No choice! You have to get this if you buy a D4 MONOBALLFIX - GEARED. Im not happy about that, but whatcha gonna do?!?! Too expensive, but it is well made. 5

[Aluminum] Because the lens is set a little to the left of center (as seen from the back) this plate still allows the battery/SD card compartment to open fully without having to detach the QR plate. Sweet! Love the Arca-swiss quick release system! 5
