[0.6" (15 mm)] I have the sibling, angled version, of the TSN-664M and decided that for certain applications, this straight viewing model was something I needed to have.


It seems at this time the TSN-664M and 663M are being phased out for a new model. I am hopeful this line won't go the way of the Dodo. I think Kowa is a premier spotting scope manufacturer, and this model is a great way to get into a premium spotting scope. My preference is the 30x wide-angle eyepiece. It is super comfortable for long-term viewing especially if you wear glasses.


You can't go wrong with the Kowa Prominar line.

[3 x 3 x 0.9"] A high quality, well built product. Optics are very clear, crisp and bright.

[0.6" (15 mm)] I did a lot of research on what exactly I wanted in a spotting scope. I was looking for something ultralight, compact and not sacrificing glass quality. This was half the price of a Swarovski and is very comparable quality in its performance. I’ll always have this in my pack, B&H had the best pricing of anywhere that sells this spotting scope. Can’t go wrong with this spotter if you’re looking for something lightweight, compact, and top tier quality.

[0.6" (15 mm)] This bracket is awesome. Fully compatible with ARCA Swiss mounts. I use it to solidly mount my Sony NEX 5R with 35 mm f/1.8 lens via the Swarovski DCA adapter to the Swarovski 25-50 mm ocular. Nothing wobbles anymore and I can also get the balance on the tripod exactly right. Higly recommended!

[0.81 oz (23 g)] Great fit between the Kowa scope and the Sony camera. Provides great detail and the correct distance from the scopes image projection.

[0.03 lb] fits perfectly and made well.

[0.6" (15 mm)] High quality optics in a lightweight portable package. I am very impressed with the quality of this product. Construction is first rate and very solid with good ergonomic features. The optics are amazing with no color fringing or distortion. I use the scope with a KOWA TSE-Z9B 20-60x eyepiece, another quality item. I am amazed every time I use this scope at the distances I can see, with such detail! I can spend hours looking through the scope enjoying all the detail that has been hiding in plain sight. You can even get photos using and iPhone held up the eyepiece The image is surrounded by a black circle but the detail is amazing. I would recommend the CNW-10 Kowa Cordura Carrying Case. The case is great and is very fast to open and offers protection from bumps and scrapes. You will also need a solid tripod and head as any vibration is easily seen at the high magnification this scope is capable of.

[3 x 3 x 0.9"] This is the best Spotting scope I have owned! It is replacing one that cost almost double last year. The Kowa is crystal clear to the edge and is great in low light conditions. I went with a straight 30x eye piece and couldn't be happier. I use the spotting scope on back country hunts because it is light weight and an unbelievable piece of glass. I will be adding more Kowa to my list of fine optics.

[0.03 lb] Great light weight scope. Absolutely competes with all the bigger,heavier more expensive spotters. If you are hiking, hunting etc... this is the scope 100%. It is much brighter , clearer and sharper than the size would indicate. If shooting from one spot only and no need for mobility then the bigger scopes do have a slight advantage. This scope clearly shows animals details/rack size points etc... out past 1500 yards easily. At this price point I expected excellence. It has exceeded those expectations. Wonderful optics !!!

[0.03 lb] Easy to install and offers a wide range of zoom. My only con is that the knobs that you tighten to keep the rotation steady are a pain. Also, the light could be better at high zoom. Not sure if it is thie eyepiece or the 88- Kowa that I have it attached to.
