The Leica R to BMPCC Speed Booster - Metabones Adapterfrom Leica R to BMPCC Speed Booster - Metabones Adapterallows you to mount a Leica R lens on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, while using custom optics to increase the angle of view and the maximum aperture of the lens.

The Speed Booster works by shrinking the image circle of your Leica R lens down to better fit the smaller sensor of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. This has the effect of making the angle of view of the lens 0.58x wider or, in other terms, reducing the crop factor of the camera from 2.88x to 1.75x.

When the Speed Booster concentrates the image circle from a lens, the brightness of the image is increased by 1 2/3 stops, with a maximum output aperture of f/0.8 when using a Leica R f/1.4 lens. In addition to lens speed and angle of view, the Speed Booster also increases the lens' MTF, or how faithfully the lens transfers detail from the object to the camera sensor. These increases in MTF are seen in the corners as well as the center of the images. For added lens support, a removable Arca-type tripod foot is included.

[0.7 lb] Metabones is a true champ when it comes to lens adapters. This adapter will not only let you use your canon EF lenses, but it will actual focus more light in onto the sensor adding almost a full stop. I love canon L series lenses but I also love my GH5. This was a great way to get the best of both worlds. 5

[0.7 lb] I tested this vs. some $100 knock offs (2 different styles that I own). Those are clear at 4x in my GH5's camera viewer, the Metabones is clear at 8x. I saved money on the FD lenses, and will gladly spend some of what I saved on the Metabones to have them as sharp as can be. 5

[0.7 lb] I have a few Canon EF lenses... Between my friends and colleagues I have access to a ton of Canon EF lenses... ...but I really wanted a GH4. The image I'm getting with this speedbooster is incredible, and the mechanics are flawless. A big reason I had to have a good speedbooster is for my Tokina 11-16 EF. This lens is great for use on stabilizers due to infinity focus and a wide field of view. I was nervous about this purchase because in a handful of forums, I read that of all the lenses out there, the autofocus on the Tokina 11-16 didn't work on the previous version of this speedbooster, and I couldn't find any verdict on the compatibility of my Tokina and THIS speedbooster ULTRA. Well, I'm glad to say, I received my speedbooster and it works great with my Tokina 11-16! 5
