Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this power tank has a 12V DC car/vehicle plugs to power my mount? Other Celestron power tanks have 2 of them but there is no mention of such plugs in this one.Thank you for your assistance

A: Buy a 5.5mm x inner diameter of 2.1mm barrel plug to female cigarette socket adapter and power away !

Q: 2. Can I run the output into an unbalanced recorder?

A: No problem - just adapt the XLR output from the ROLLS to the required input on your recorder.

Q: 3. Is it possible to just buy one slide part with the prongs? I had a prong fall off and would rather not buy the whole thing is possible

A: You should contact Blackmagic Support and see what they can do.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Celestron CGEM II? If so, are any additional cables or adapters required? How does the performance of this compare to the other Celestron Power Tank batteries?

A: This battery pack should work with any Celestron that has a 12V input socket. (I can't speak for all of them, but the plug end of its cable fit my CPC perfectly.) The only other Celestron power pack I know of is the Power Tank, a hand carry item that usually sits on the ground under the tripod. This unit is much lighter weight and straps to a tripod leg, so it seems to be a lot more convenient.

Q: 5. What d-tap to 2 pin cable would be suitable that is 36 inches or longer?

A: As long as the cable is labeled as a D-tap to 2-pin LEMO cable, you're fine.

Q: 6. Does this work for a Mackie Mix8?

A: This is not a compatible power supply for the Mackie Mix8 . Please contact Mackie directly for the proper replacement AC power supply (18 VAC, 600 mA): Mackie: Distributed By - Loud TechnologiesTel: (866) 858 5832

Q: 7. what’s the best way to keep this battery charged or uncharged?

A: The Celestron PowerTank Lithium should be kept at around 40-50% State of Charge to be ready for immediate use – this is approximately 3.8 Volts per cell – while tests have suggested that if this battery type is kept fully charged the recoverable capacity is reduced over time. The voltage of each cell should not fall below 2 volts as at this point the anode starts dissolving causing copper shunts to form which will cause an irreversible loss of capacity. Similarly lithium based batteries can be damaged by over charging which causes the cathode to decompose.

Q: 8. I live in a country where the outlet voltage is rated at 240V. the rating on this model is 90-140V. Will this model work in my country or do I have to buy a transformer along with it?

A: We do not suggest you use this model internationally; You should purchase the model that comes standard at 240v.

Q: 9. I have an 11 sct & a skywatcher azeq6 gt mount. The mount power requirement is DC11-16V 4Awill the Celestron PowerTank 7-Amp 12 VDC Power Supply run my scope all night?

A: The supply seems to meet your requirements voltage range and far exceeds your current requirements. It should be fine...you will like this supply...highly recommend.

Q: 10. the info states Balanced XLR-female, x6 and Balanced 1/4 TRS Phone, x6 . Picture shows Balanced XLR-female, x6Balanced XLR-male, x6. which is it?

A: When in doubt, trust the photo. There are only XLR jacks on this piece of gear. no 1/4 inputs, or outputs.

[2500 mA, 24 VDC] This couldn't be any quicker or simpler to install, regardless of pedalboard you're using. I've used it with a Pedal Train and Holey Board and it's very simple to use, particularly if you're using a brick-type power supply and need a few more leads.
