The AtlasIED TSD-ZDC 4x4 Impedance Divider Combineris a universal impedance divider/combiner for passively summing or splitting mic or line level signals. Features include four balanced 10K and four balanced 150Ω inputs and outputs that may be passively split or combined in any arrangement.

Typical applications for the TSD-ZDC include passive summation of multiple 150Ω mics or stereo 10K sources and passive splitting of 150Ω or 10K input sources to multiple outputs. To ease contractor use and installation the TSD-ZDC includes individual ground connectors for each input/output. The unit's compact footprint allows standalone mounting or an optional rack mount adapter may be used to facilitate up to 4 TSD devices.

    Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. When you use this as a combiner (for example, use two microphones and mix the audio signals from the microphones in this device) can you still split the output signal into two? I just need to use two mics but amplify the sound in a monitor as well as record it in my audio recording device.

A: Thank you for your email. Once the signal is combined you are unable to split the signal output of the combiner.

Q: 2. Is this really a transformer, or a simple adapter. If a transformer, what is the ratio?

A: It is a transformer designed to work with DSLRs and consumer grade camcorders. The impedance match specs are not available.

Q: 3. can you recommend a longer cable to work with this adapter?

A: Since this is an impedance matching transformer, it would be recommended to use an XLR cable of the length of your choice to connect to the XLR female side in order to extend.

Q: 4. Can this be used to split one phantom-powered mic into 2 tracks on an audio recorder for a low safety track?

A: Yes, you can use the ART SPLITCom Pro Microphone Splitter/Combiner to split the power on a phantom powered mic.

Q: 5. Is there a way to add phantom power device to use my audio Technica shotgun mic that I used to use with a DAT recorder that had phantom power, but now all my cables do not work with 1/8in cameras or devices. Thanks for any advice?

A: A device such as the Denecke PS-1A Portable Single Channel 48V Phantom Power Supply (BH #DEPS1A) could be used in between a phantom-powered shotgun microphone and the Kopul LMT100 Low to High Impedance Matching Transformer for proper connection to 3.5mm camera inputs: https://bhpho.to/3rPrNa4

Q: 6. I have a shotgun mic without phantom power so how can I use these cables?

A: A shotgun microphone that powers itself/does not require phantom power is a great candidate for connection of the microphone to a 3.5mm input such as those found on DSLR cameras using the Kopul LMT100 Low to High Impedance Matching Transformer.

Q: 7. How to connect to laptop for USB power?

A: I am not aware of an option to provide this with USB power. This comes with a power supply for use with wall plugin power only.

Q: 8. I got this cable with the Senn 600 and when plugged into my Canon 80D it only registers on the LEFT channel, is this because of the cable or because the Senn is a mono mic? Do I need to do something else to have it record bother left and right channels, there are no options on the 80D for that, thanks.

A: The LMT-100 is specifically designed for connection of a mono mic to a camera. Audio should be present on both sides using this cable and should have no issues with the Sennheiser or similar mics. We do however generally recommend the Sennheiser brand cable (KA-600). https://bhpho.to/2gPQ0Wn Please contact a Representative here for additional assistance at 800-606-6969.

Q: 9. can you recommend a longer cable to work with this adapter?

A: For a longer cable run, you may use a standard XLR cable. You may consider B&H # KOM4025 for a 25' extension.

Q: 10. if i connect my 100 ohm mic to my dslr 3.5 jack using this transformer, will the recorded sound still have around 100 ohm impedance?

A: This is an impedance matching transformer. It will convert your 100 ohm mic to approx. 2000-3000 ohms to match your cameras mic input. Recorded audio is not measured in impedance, but decibels.

[6 oz (165 g)] A must-have if you have 3-4 PSM300s. I got to combine the antennas and power all my units from one power source freeing up more power for other units in our rack. Works perfect.

[1 lb] I have 4 PSM300 and this works fantastic for streamlining the set up in my rack. It's not cheap solution to eliminate 3 power supplies and 3 antennas but in my case I consider it well worth it.

[1 lb] I haven't checked the response curve, but it sounds clean and natural on all normal programs I have used. It's true that all small transformers like this one can saturate somewhere between 20Hz and a 100Hz, especially on line level signals. But the effect would be progressive the lower Hz you go, and the harmonics produced would be even, so some people might find it pleasant.

The cool thing about this is how solid it is built, no batteries, multiple ins and outs, and it's light weight and compact for gear bags to go. It solves problems.

[6 oz (165 g)] This device is less expensive, lighter and a little smaller than the MS-2 splitters I have used in the past. I am using it as a Combiner with line-level signals. It is working with no problems.

[6 oz (165 g)] When Working in small clubs with limited channels,it allows me to save a channel for something else, I like to use the SPLITCOM to add a mic to the bottom of the snare, with the out of phase switch it has allows me to get the sound perfect everytime, I use a Beta 56 on top and a Audio Technica Pro 35 on the bottom of the snare, this unit also allows the phanton power to run thru the one side of it. The ART SPLITCOM Pro is a great tool to have for any engineer.

[1 lb] This unit is very solidly built and performs exactly as it's intended. Very simple way to combine two mic signals (Shure Beta58A mics) into one. No issues at all.

[6 oz (165 g)] I use these to split my mics between a monitor mixer and the front of house mixer. These small boxes are made in the USA and built like a tank. They do their job well without coloring the sound and also double as a mic combiner in those situations when you have run out of mic channels on the board. I have a few Rolls boxes in my toolkit and they are solid and dependable little problem solvers.

[6 oz (165 g)] This is one of those things that you've been missing for years. I shoot frequently in comedy clubs, and they have a wide range of in-house sound gear and it's not always great. Some places even plug a mic straight into the PA. This awesome little box allows me to pull a feed from any XLR mic before it goes into the PA, which means I get a nice clean audio track in my recorder with no effects and the club is none the wiser. Just mix that with some audio from a couple of SM57s set up to capture audience sound and you're in business. It's also nice that I can use it as a combiner should I ever be short an input on my recorder or my camera. I haven't had to do this in the field yet, but I've tested it at home and it works great. It's passive, so you don't need batteries or mains, and you even get phase and lift if you need them depending on your situation. The only downside is that, especially in a dark club, it's almost impossible to read the labels. I just used some neon pink spike tape to relabel mine. Oh, and that price? You can't argue with that price. You should probably get two, just in case.
