The National Optical 215-RLED Cordless Binocular Microscopefrom National Optical 215-RLED Cordless Binocular Microscopeis a four-objective microscope with a 30° inclined binocular viewing and a Siedentopf head. The four ASC high contrast objectives are 4x, 10x, 40xR, and 100xR. The 40x and 100xR objectives are retractable and the 100xR objective ought to be used with immersion oil to achieve maximum resolution. The retractable 40xR and 100xR objectives have a spring-loaded lens which will retract when it touches the slide thereby protecting the lens and the slide. Both the turret and the included objectives adhere to DIN microscope objective standard. This means that you can use any DIN objective with this microscope without worrying about your microscope ever becoming obsolete. The Siedentopf head design allows for a comfortable interpupillary distance adjustment.

The supplied Achromatic Super Contrast (ASC) objectives reduce color distortions introduced by imperfections in optical elements better than regular achromatic objectives and provide higher contrast images. The parfocalled and parcentered design allows for switching objectives without having to realign your sample and without losing focus. The focusing system has a scale and can perform fine and coarse adjustments. The wide field 10x eyepieces have a pointer and can accommodate an optional reticle.

To view details of our specimens more easily, the microscope features an LED illumination system with adjustable brightness. It delivers light intensity equivalent to that of a 20W incandescent bulb. The white light from the bottom LED emitter is focused on the sample with 1.25 NA Abbe condenser.

The microscope also features a 5.3 x 5.3" mechanical stage with adjustable height. It has a movable slide holder and allows you to move your specimen slides in X-Y plane. The frame of the microscope is made of cast metal with gray enamel finish.

Included with the microscope are three rechargeable AA NiMH batteries, a battery charger, a dustcover and two Allen wrenches for rack stop and eyepiece socket tension adjustment. To recharge your microscope's batteries, just connect the microscope to the wall power adapter.

Q: 1. Is there a way to add a camera that is at least 8 MP?

A: Unfortunately we do not have any Camera Attachment in our stock that has at least 8MP.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the bag and the camera compartment?

A: The external dimensions of the National Geographic Iceland M 17L Camera Backpack is 12.2 x 6.89 x 17.32 inches and has an internal volume of 17 liters. The camera insert dimensions and internal dimensions are 10.63 x 4.33 x 10.04 inches. Q: 3. Does this microscope package contain a dust cover?

A: yes it comes with a dust cover.

Q: 4. Is this adaptor made of metal? Am I right to assume there is a hole in the base so it can be attached to a tripod screw? I want to replace the original plastic adabter I got with my Celestron 15x70 binoculars because it is pretty shaky. Looking at this slim profile of this adapter I worry it could be the same, or is it sturdy not to have the same problem as with the plastic one? Thanks

A: This is all metal, and very sturdy

Q: 5. Check your information: The stereomicroscope should not be confused with a binocular compound microscope, which has double eyepieces. The image in such a binocular compound microscope is no different from that obtained with a single monocular eyepiece. So, does a binocular microscope render images in 3D as you claim?

A: The term stereo and binocular microscope have been used interchangeably by different manufactures. Stereo microscope are usually low powered ones as in field or dissecting microscope. where you are looking at a dimensional (3D) object. Binocular microscope are high powered compound microscope where you are looking at a biological on a glass slide with a cover slide over it (non-dimensional.) 3D effect very minimal.

Q: 6. Can this Trinocular Eyepiece Tube accept the AmScope CA-CAN-SLR Canon SLR Adaptor?

A: Yes it can as long as you have the correct T Mount. This is the B&H part number for the Canon T Mount.B&H# VELACEFT

Q: 7. Is it possible to buy affordable replacement light bulbs for the illumination system?

A: We don't sell them. You would have to contact the manufacturer.

Q: 8. Can Bushnell 8 x 42 be held be held by this adapter , or anyone knows one that fits better ?

A: If the Bushnell has a female threaded hole on the front of the pivot it should work. Check for a cover over that hole before you give up.

Q: 9. will this work with Leica Noctivid 8x42 binoculars?

    A: I have the 10X42 Noctivid - it works fine.Enjoy. I hope this helps.Neal

[Yes] I purchased the microscope for micro photography. It turned out to be a great investment as it takes up where macro photograpy leaves off. It opened up a whole new world of photography

[Yes] The digital camera and viewer are second to none. It is better than what is available to me in my science department. As to its limits, I can dimly make out fuzzy bacterial cells on a professionally prepared bacterial microscope slide - as one would expect for 400x without phase contrast or an oil immersion lense. The image quality for eukaryotic cells is crystal clear and outstanding. The batteries fit in the battery compartment just fine and the electric plug also works just fine. The light on the tetraview cannot penetrate a leaf but I have worked with professional scopes whose lighting is powerful enough to penetrate a leaf without further sectioning to make it thinner. Overall, it seems to be a very good product that is professional grade in most of its components and optics. The digital components are outstanding. The light is sufficient, but I think some professional scopes have a more powerful light. Some of the parts, such as the little metal arm that holds a slide in place, seem a little bit more flimsy than a professional scope. I would still rate this scope very highly and it certainly exceeded my expectations.

[10x Wide Field] This is an excellent field microscope. It's easy to use, the images are clear and the unit seems to be built very well. At this point I can find nothing to list on the downside; only time will tell.

[10x Wide Field] We received the microscope last week. One of our best purchases. We are absolutely delighted. Light wight. It can be used with rechargeable battery (included)..make it so portable and convinient at times. My children love the relative large screen on the eye-piece. You can connect the microscope to a laptop or computer and make the views even better and larger. We have used it to view premade dry mount slides as well as wet medium in petri dish. You could take pictures and record videos. You can also add notes on the taken picture with the software provided. Overall, it is a great microscope at a fantastic price. Great purchase! Thank you Celestron & B&H.

[Battery] Item was shipped fast and promptly. The microscopes works as advertised. You will need to buy blank slides. The lcd screen works much better than standard eye pieces. It is very lightweight and does not take up much space in your home. Don't believe all the negative reviews about this scope. You can see all kinds of living organisms in one drop of pond water. The attached images are some kind of egg sack. (Not sure what it is) that I found in a drop of pond water. Photos were taken from the Pentaview. You can also record video. Comes with a 4 GB SD memory card.
