[Lithium-ion] Love this due to the size and functionality - the original Magnum is like a magic trick - so is this

[Sony NP-FM50/55] After trying numerous follow focus systems including ones that were from the “best” manufacturers, we still had issues getting reliability out of a wireless FIZ control system, and poor customer service even from vendors charging a very high premium for their products. Finally we tried Chroziel and not only did their magnum system work flawlessly, their customer service is great, and best of all if you are using Canon Cine Servo lenses it works natively with them so you don’t need to use as many motors for FIZ control, or depending on the lens you may not need any (i.e Canon 50-1000). This all makes for a reliable, and much more self contained system than any other on the market. I wouldn’t even consider a brand other than Chroziel for FIZ control after using the Magnum.

[Sony NP-FM50/55] I use the magnum for about a year now and it is a great and easy to use tool for adjust focus iris and zoom. Great value for money and a very good support via phone. My ac's really like the cinetape readout on the handunit display. There is no need for a external cinetape display. Another nice feature is the function for controlling canon eng zoom lenses via the digital port with the built in motor. I also can control a LED headlight via a dmx port or the fader on the handunit.

[0.15 lb] I added this on to my Baton34 and its my preferred way to use the fixture.  The light is super portable and easier to use with the Battery handle - especially for light painting subjects like vehicles!


Dont let the compact size fool you it lasts a super long time on the 34 light!


The easy battery meter button makes it ideal to keep tabs on your battery life and make sure you have enough juice to finish the shoot.


The wires for 110 current are cumbersome and a huge trip hazard on set - this eliminates that instantly

[2.5 oz (70 g)] This battery handle gives an already flexible light even more versatility. Im so pleased with this addition to my kit. I have the 34-inch Baton and, while I didnt do any empirical tests, I feel like Im able to get about an hour of full power draw from the handle. I love just about everything about this add-on. Its easy to charge, easy to access the battery indicator (although a numbered percentage read-out would make it even better) and lightweight enough to wield for long shoots. This is a must-have for Baton owners.

[2.5 oz (70 g)] I'm a veteran Hollywood union focus puller and a long time wireless focus user. I've been looking for an affordable, three channel alternative for some time. After using one on a short film in 2015, I decided to purchase this system from Chrosziel. I'm very happy with it so far. Chrosziel is a small company and they are dedicated to customer service. After offering a few suggestions, I saw them implemented almost immediately. The device works as a focus puller would expect. The system is compatible with a wide variety of motors and uses Lemo connectors. It is compatible with Preston motors if you already own those. I have two handsets and send control of the iris to the 2nd handset for the DP. Firmware updates are downloaded from the website and easy to install via a USB stick.

[Lithium-ion] In my opinion the Genaray BATON-BAT Battery is a must have item if you own or are considering the SpectroLED Baton and not just because it allows you to hold it like a light saber.  I’ve had the SpectroLED for a few weeks and have only used it wired once.  That’s because the Baton-Bat has given me enough freedom and “juice” to use the light without having to tap into wall power.

The unit has a solid build to it, and seems purposely designed to make your LED into a handheld tool.  Incased in metal, it does have some weight to it, but nothing that makes the entire system unmanageable by you or your assistant.  I love the fact that it has a screw thread on the bottom of it, to expand your mounting options on set.

The description says you can get 60-minutes of use out of it on a full charge when using it with the Baton-34, but I’m guessing that is only if you are using the light at 100% power.  In my highly non-scientific tests, I’ve gotten about 2 hours on my Baton-34, but then again I have never used the light on full power for any of the shoots I’ve been on.  My results may be the exception and not the rule.

My only gripe with the battery is the LED power indicator.  My personal preference would have been a numerical readout of the power usage rather than the standard LED power indicator.  This has nothing to do with the battery, and everything to do with me being nit-picky.

All and all this battery seems almost like a necessity for this LED lighting system.  It allows so much more creative freedom from a light that’s already very versatile.
