A: What doorway dolly? This track is designed for use with the same manufacturer's Glide Gear SYL-960 Floor/Track Hybrid Tripod Dolly. That dolly has a rated capacity of 35 lbs. If you mean something like a Matthews Round-D-Round Doorway Dolly, that one has a capacity of 1100 lbs. So I would say no. Also keep in mind, doorway dollies cannot directly ride on these rails without skates.

A: Yes, the shoe can be removed and a mini ball head can be attached. I just now removed the shoe and attached a Slik standard ball head II, that I own. The knurled round plastic knob below the shoe contains a 1/4 -20 screw that is designed fit into the supplied flash shoe in this flash bracket, and also the standard 1/4 -20 hole of a camera. But the hole is 1/4 and will not accept larger 3/8 -16 screws of a professional ball head (without redrilling).
