The Gra-Vue SD-SDI to Composite Converter 1RUis an expansion board the requires the 1RU version of the XIO-series rackmount frame. The card takes a single NTSC or PAL SD-SDI input and converts to four composite analog outputs. So the signal can pass to downstream devices without requiring a separate distribution amplifier, the SDI input is also looped back out on two mirrored outputs.

A: Hi Maria -Assuming that you want Analog audio out, leave all the DIP switches off. If you want digital audio out (AES) the switch positions are silkscreened on the unit. Just a note: Some Blackmagic mini converters use one switch for processing on or off which you'll need in the on position for the unit to work. This doesn't apply to this one (SDI to Audio) but to some of the others available in this product line.

Q: 5. Is it possible to use the loop out and multi view at the same time? My setup is that I will have 2 SDI inputs from my PTZOptics cams, loop those out to my BMD Mini Recorders, but I want to be able to monitor both of those feeds on the same screen. I'm also wondering what the output resolution of this device is? Is it dependent on the inputs? Right now I'm having an issue where my PTZOptics cams have to be set to 1080p30 as that's the max my BMD Mini Recorders will support. The cams can output HDMI and SDI simultaneously, so I thought I'd just plug the HDMI feed into one of my monitors, but my monitors apparently don't support 1080p30, they throw an error asking for 60Hz. Any feedback / suggestions is appreciated.

A: Hi Taylor, This is Jules from Product Support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. You can configure a DMON-4S to receive SDI on inputs 1 & 3 then use the ports for inputs 2 & 4 as loop outputs of inputs 1 & 3 respectively. Inputs 1 & 3 are still available to use in the multi-viewer, although obviously you then only have two inputs available for up to four windows, depending on how many windows you wish to show on screen. The four HDMI outputs can be individually controlled so each output can be configured to either be the output of the multi-viewer or a loop output of any of the SDI inputs. Q: 9. I would like to derive audio wordclock from HDMI. My ADC will accept AES as wordclock. Can I use this with CONVMBHS24K6G "HDMI to SDI 6G Mini Converter" to embed silent audio (perhaps from unconnected analog inputs?) and then extract the silence to use as wordclock with this device?

A: I'm not sure if it is necessary to feed silent audio but you certainly can. If there is no audio on an SDI track the AES audio out will be silent.

Q: 10. Can labels be added to the multiview?

A: Yes, The DMON-4S supports placing a custom label or UMD (under monitor display) on the layout for each window. Using a custom layout on the DMON-4S will allow you position these wherever you like in the multi view. The custom layouts and text for the labels are set up using the free of charge USB Control Panel software.
