The DVI-D EDID Ghost Black Boxfrom DVI-D EDID Ghost Black Boxoptimizes video output for any display. It learns Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) from a display and ensures that your video source conforms to optimal resolution settings. A: Yes it does! I am currently using it to do exactly what you're asking about. You just set up the HDMI Detective for the highest denominator configuration and it will pass 3D if you put it on the input to your splitter.

A: According to Cine Gears the included Lemo Cables do have a D-Tap on the other end. However this unit does not include a DC Power Supply.

A: Yes it will, if your Kramer will work with HDCP protected content and pass EDID.

[5 VDC] This worked fine for end devices that don't report audio to the source. Be aware that using active cables and this device on a MAC, the mac cannot supply enough power for both. In active cable and this device is no problem 5

[0.6 lb] In production for about a week now, no real issues. We're running without EDID so there wasn't any need to program these, I can't speak to that functionality, but as a straight fibre extender they work well. 5

[5 VDC] I had an old GEFEN Detectiv HDMI since 2007 as component in my Media Center environement. After it has met its end of life I ordered the new one. It works as ecpected. For me it's unbelievable using a MCE without the GEFEN because of the often losing of HDMI signals. 5

[Metal] This is the exact unit we needed. We had a MacBook pro connecting to an inexpensive 4x2 matrix. One output to a Samsung TV. One output to a BenQ projector. It would not give us a clear signal at the projector, if it gave us a signal at all. With this unit, we were able to fake the laptop into believing it was only connected to the BenQ projector. Problem solved! Worked like a charm. Highly recommended! 5

[6.2 x 4 x 1.9"] This is an excellent little box. It's well built and does exactly what the manufacturer says it does. Setup was a breeze. The manual can be confusing but it basically reads/duplicates/changes and EDID HDMI/DVI signal. Why do you need this? Simple...If your monitor/TV is not talking to your input device properly for whatever reason, this will take care of that. You can select resolutions, color options on the fly and pass through sound as well. Why did I use this? I was trying to connect a PC output to an HDMI monitor of obscure resolution. I was greeted with a blank screen. I did some research and it turned out the Intel drivers do not support said resolution...so HDMI handshake was happening but that was about it. All I had to do is connect this box between the monitor and the PC and set it to a resolution that the Intel drivers understood...and voila...problem solved. The box continuously broadcasts the EDID signal so the computer thinks it's always connected. Perfect. 5

[Metal] I needed something to force a 1080p 60 EDID for a source device feeding a Blackmagic HDMI to SDI converter. Neither of the connected devices requires any kind of HDCP so I cannot speak to any issues that might arise from that. The HDMI EDID Ghost performed as expected. I used the hard setting and never attempted to copy an EDID. Time will tell whether or not the device is reliable. The device is doing exactly what I purchased it to do. 5
