Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How wide is the neoprene pad on the Op/Tech Mirrorless strap?

A: The OP/TECH USA Mirrorless Strap with Mini QD Connectors is 1.5 inches wide.

Q: 2. I've read that this strap can only handle upto 2.5lbs (1133grams). Is there a similar strap like this that can handle something heavier? (Sony a7rii (625g) - Sony GMaster 24-70 lens (886g) - Godox tt685s (410g) Flash plus battery flash = approx 4.3lbs or 1921grams)

A: The lugs on that camera do make it tuff to put a strap that can support more on it.You can use this, Ruggard Split D-Ring Twin Pack (12mm) B&H # RUSDR12MM MFR # SDR-12MM and then use a strap that can hold more like this Ruggard Lux Strap Plus with 3/8 Connector B&H # RULSP38 MFR # LSP-38.

Q: 3. Are these OK to attach to the strap eyelets of a Sigma 120-300 f2.8 Sports lens?

A: The OP/TECH USA System Connectors 3/8"-XL (Set of Two) is ok to attach to the 120-300mm F2.8 DG OS HSM's strap eyelets.

Q: 4. What OP/TECH USA straps can be used with these Tripod Loops System Connectors?

A: The OP/TECH USA Super Classic Strap-Uni Loop (Black), BH # OPSSUL would be a compatible strap. https://bhpho.to/3xJofYl

Q: 5. Is it possible to un-thread the webbing and remove the mini quick-disconnect connectors, or are they permanently attached?

A: The OP/TECH USA Mirrorless Strap with Mini QD Connectors (Black) comes with a built-in connector. Unfortunately, you cannot remove it from the neoprene strap.

Q: 6. Is this strap padded and comfortable? Also, will it hold a Sony a7rii (625g) using a heavy Sony Gmaster 24-70 lens (886g) and Godox tt685s (410g) Flash plus battery?

A: The Mini QD Connectors on that strap can support no more than 5 lbs. We do not have that flash but you are coming very close to the limit in my opinion.I suggest adding this to the Sony camera, Ruggard Split D-Ring Twin Pack (12mm) B&H # RUSDR12MM MFR # SDR-12MM. With those you can then use a stronger camera strap. This is a strap with those rings that is stronger, Ruggard Lux Strap Plus with 3/8 Connector B&H # RULSP38 MFR # LSP-38

Q: 7. Does set of 2 mean 2 male and 2 female?

A: Yes, you will receive two male and two female connections in a set of two.

Q: 8. Hi can this strap fit to Mamiya RZ67?

A: These connectors should fit your camera; they are designed to fit a lug with a square post measuring .162" wide (4,11mm).

Q: 9. I have small slr for which I think this strap would be perfect. However, I would like to have sturdier connectors since the lugs on the camera are of standard size. Is it possible to get other connectors, such as the ones on say, the Super Classic strap? If so, what do I need to buy in addition to this mirrorless strap? Thanks a lot.

A: I think you can buy the connectors individually. Go to the OP/Tech USA site and see what is compatible. I have a Fuji X-T1 with a larger lens (10-24mm) and this strap works well.

Q: 10. How much weight will these handle? I'm thinking of attaching these to my backpack straps and using uni-loops on my tripod. The tripod weighs 5.9 lbs without the head.

A: Although the manufacturer does not list a load capacity for these strap connectors, they are very durable.

[0.07 lb] Needed a nice easy to use camera strap that wasn't to expensive for an older bridge camera. This strap fit the bill. It is easy to take on and off of the camera.

[Yes] The minute I installed my Lumix GX85 strap I knew it had to go. The Op/Tech strap is soft and comfortable, easy to fold up albeit slightly bulky due to the padded section. No complaints.

It is worth the money.

[0.07 lb] much more comfortable than the one that came with the camera. I like the quick release connectors also

[Yes] By old-school, I'm talking Nikon F here: prism finder, 50mm f/1.4 or 28mm f/3.5...likely a bit heavier than all but your top-end mirrorlless numbers. All I wanted was a comfortable, unassuming, non-logo'd strap, and for some reason that's not terribly easy to find, particularly at less-than-extortionate prices. OpTech has always made good gear, so it was nice to see them making something like this. Strap seems sturdy enough for slinging old iron around (although I'd leave the motor drive at home, just to be safe). One bonus feature is the quick-release locks near the camera lugs: you can swap out the neck strap for an optional wrist strap (also from OpTech), adding a useful carry option. Highly recommended.

[Yes] A friend recommended this strap to use with a Sony RX100 VI. The openings on the camera are small, but these connectors worked perfectly and the strap is extremely comfortable. Does not disappoint.

[Yes] I used this first on my Panasonic Lumix camera. Love it. So easy to detach the strap with just a press of the buttons. Adjustable too. Also bought it for my Samsung Mirrorless camera.

[Yes] This is my second purchase of the same model OP/TECH strap. Before my wife claimed it for her camera, the first strap I had was on a full-frame Sony with the 24-105 (which weighs about 3 lbs) and gave great service without wear or mishap, and has been plenty strong. So I was confident the same strap would excel on my lighter Olympus setup, which weighs in at just 2.5. The no-slip characteristic along with the resilience of the neoprene main part makes for comfortable all day shooting and the adjustable nylon strap sections hold position firmly. But the great part of this system are the Mini QD connectors, which are small enough to go through the camera's strap eyes without requiring the split rings. Small, they are unobtrusive on the camera when the strap is removed for a tripod or if a same-brand wrist strap is installed. Really good system at a reasonable price!

[Black] Used with a Canon SL1 with a f2.8 28mm IS prime lens. Because of the less than 2 lb. weight, I can also carry OP/Tech wrist strap which has the same connector.

[0.07 lb] This lightweight, well-made strap is not only comfortable with its wide neoprene shoulder section, but is also innovative in its attachment system. Instead of split ring attachment to the camera, it has synthetic cord loops with strong, small side-release clips (both males). These attach to narrow nylon webbing straps, which have additional side release clips to attach to the wider neoprene shoulder strap. When not attached to the shoulder strap, the webbing straps can connect to each other forming a smaller loop for an easy grab from a bag without a dangling shoulder strap. Or just the cord loops may be left on the camera for unimpaired tripod use. Clever system, plus it works perfectly with OpTech's battery pouches (not included), which stay put on the neoprene. PS The attachment loops have the same QD side-release clips as the one employed by the OpTech Cam Strap (not included), which easily attaches when only a wrist strap is needed.
