The Magnus VC-20-SCP LANC Zoom Controller Sony AVR Cableprovides record and zoom control for all LANC-equipped Canon, Panasonic, and Sony camcorders. An included 22.5" long control cable connects into the controller on one end and into the camcorder's LANC port on the other. You can also use this controller with Sony consumer cameras via an optional Magnus ACM-SAVR AVR adapter cable.

A built-in mounting clamp allows attaching the controller to your tripod pan handle so you can zoom and pan with one hand and achieve a fluid look. The clamp opens up to 1.25" and also fits jibs, tubes, pipes, and bars. Zoom is regulated by a pressure-sensitive rocker switch that produces faster or slower control depending on how hard or gentle you press it. For tape-based cameras, a REC/RET button works together with a REC/RET switch to let you return to the last record position.

A: The zoom control has an 8 pin male out. I believe that lens has a 20 pin female. There is an adapter... generally runs $250-$300. That should do it. If you are using it on a jib/crane line I do, to may also have to purchase an 8 pin zoom extension cable, also.

A: I'm happy to report that the zoom controller works as promised on a JVC GY HM850U, including switching to ret and pushing the red button for activation of an autofocus when in manual focus mode (but then, you have to switch back to rec to record). A: I use it together with a AX100 and it works although I had to buy a separate adaptercable from Sony AV to Sony Multi. The zoom-wipe needs a little bit of fingertrainig to figure out the ideal amount of pressure for the desired zoom-speed...

A: The pin configuration for the VC-20-SE zoom control is 8 pin. Check your Canon lens to make sure the remote zoom connection is eight pin.

A: Yes, the JVC GY-HM620 has a standard 2.5mm LANC port and the Magnus VC-20-SCP should work well with it.
