Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Power Kit with Sony L Batteryprovides a way to power your Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera using an available camcorder type battery. This item is well suited for use by operators who already own Sony L type batteries and wish to use them to power their Blackmagic Pocket Camera.

The unit clamps to tubes and flat surfaces. It comes pre-built and ready to go out of the box, just insert your battery and connect the unit to your camera via the coiled cable that provides three feet of extension.

The included clamp securely attaches to both tubes and flat surfaces. It features a clamping range on tubes of about half an inch to just under an inch and a half and will clamp to flat surfaces approximately one fifth of an inch to four fifths of an inch large.

Q: 2. I have heard many answers to this question... does the grip use Canon L series batteries as the product description says, or sony camera batteries? A: The Pocket camera grip uses L Series batteries which are generally a Sony product. Canon does not use these type of battery. Not to be confused wit LP which are used in some Canon cameras and inside the Pocket camera.

Q: 3. Would Watson NP-F770 Lithium-Ion Batteries fit in this battery grip? Or would they be too "Tall" to fit?

A: We are only aware of this being able to work with NP-F550 sized batteries. An NP-F770 may be too large for this grip.

[Sony L-Series] I can get about 70 to 80 minutes of continued use on my BMPCC4K with this. I love how easy it is to charge the batteries then install this grip to my camera. Please read the short instruction manual in its entirety before using this product as it is pretty specific about never charging the batteries while this is attached to the camera. To me that is no inconvenience at all. Charging the batteries in this unit is a cinch. Just install the batteries and plug it into a wall outlet using the supplied usb-c charging cord. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I find I need it. 5

[Clamp Mount] Fits perfectly on the Pocket 4K/6K camera and uses cheap LP-E6 batteries which I have many of, giving me about 2 hours of recording time. 5

[Sony L-Series] Honestly there isn’t much to say, it’s a battery grip. It fits securely, looks good on the Pocket, and most importantly, it gave me 2 hours of continuous recording with a pair of batteries that were cheaper than a single Canon LP-E6. The battery door is a little loose on mine but other than that it works flawlessly. Love the built in storage slot for the original battery door. 5

[Sony L-Series] Generally more than I bargained for. The 1/4-20 hole on the bottom of the grip is offset in a way that helps the camera balance on a Ronin-S without a special offset plate. It also includes a USB-C charger, which is growing less common as companies assume you already own some kind of charger. Finally, not only does it include a hidden compartment to store your battery door, but the compartment is padded to eliminate any rattling from the door contained within - a very thoughtful addition. The plastic feels cheaper than the camera body, but Vello did mimic the texture of the BMPCC4/6K, so it looks consistent. There is a note in the instructions to remove the grip from the camera before charging through the USB-C adapter, or risk damage to grip and camera. I'm glad I saw it, but I wish they'd explained the risk more. Is it a 100% smoke-and-flames guarantee, or a remote chance of thermal damage over years of use? No idea. 5

[Clamp Mount] This battery grip worked perfectly with my Pocket Cinema 4K and took two Watson NP-F570 batteries just fine. The grip also works with cheaper no-name batteries if you need extras to swap out when shooting for more than a few hours at a time. 5

[Sony L-Series] I’ve seen countless rigs with V mount batteries, power solutions, etc. However this is by far the best of them all since the rest seem too cumbersome. 2 hours of running time with a couple Watson batteries. Just get 6 of those and you’re more than fine for the day. Stop complaining about having to swap batteries. It takes no more than 10 seconds. I’m waiting for the smallrig cage design of this camera with the BG. 5
