At the moment I am using a Audio Technica AT 857Ma mic with the power module AT8531.When I plug the mic cable into the SDR-4000 the recording is very faint, should the mic be going into something else first?

A: According to the manual, the inputs are 10k ohm. That's pretty much line level rather than mic. level . That would explain why running a mic straight in gives a low volume. You'll have much better luck feeding the RCA inputs from the mic mixer's output.

Q: 9. will this play off of one side and record to the other... play an accomp track and play with the accomp via a mixer and record the result?

A: The SDR-4000 is a dual recorder which is able to operate as 2 individual units. Each side having its own set of input and output jacks. Using the front panel selector, output monitoring can be selected as well, allowing you to listen to a mix of both sides as well as only left or right side units.

Q: 10. Is it possible to use the loop out and multi view at the same time? My setup is that I will have 2 SDI inputs from my PTZOptics cams, loop those out to my BMD Mini Recorders, but I want to be able to monitor both of those feeds on the same screen. I'm also wondering what the output resolution of this device is? Is it dependent on the inputs? Right now I'm having an issue where my PTZOptics cams have to be set to 1080p30 as that's the max my BMD Mini Recorders will support. The cams can output HDMI and SDI simultaneously, so I thought I'd just plug the HDMI feed into one of my monitors, but my monitors apparently don't support 1080p30, they throw an error asking for 60Hz. Any feedback / suggestions is appreciated.

A: Hi Taylor, This is Jules from Product Support at Symbiosis, Decimator's master distributor for your region. You can configure a DMON-4S to receive SDI on inputs 1 & 3 then use the ports for inputs 2 & 4 as loop outputs of inputs 1 & 3 respectively. Inputs 1 & 3 are still available to use in the multi-viewer, although obviously you then only have two inputs available for up to four windows, depending on how many windows you wish to show on screen. The four HDMI outputs can be individually controlled so each output can be configured to either be the output of the multi-viewer or a loop output of any of the SDI inputs.
