A: I have the GH4 with the 35-100mm lens and it supports it just fine. I don't see why it would not support the bigger lens you have, but Im not sure because I never tried a heavier lens.

A: No, but you can buy the carbon fiber legs and the Be Free video head separately, but you will pay a lot more for only a slight weight difference. Also, the carbon legs don't have the ball-joint between the fluid head and legs. That was the main selling point for me. The ability to adjust the head for level pans instead of messing with the hight of each leg. For me that's really what makes it a video tripod.
