The Desmond DPL-115 Long Lens Quick Release Plate 115mmfrom Desmond DPL-115 Long Lens Quick Release Plate 115mmis a 115mm long, Arca-type compatible quick release plate designed to help you more properly balance a camera with a larger lens attached. It features an aluminum construction with a 1/4"-20 screw for attaching a camera or lens collar. There are two safety stop screws included to prevent movement after the plate slides a certain distance and twin backstop flanges for a tight fit to a camera body when possible. [Aluminum] I started by ordering only one Desmond DPL-115 Long Lens Quick Release Plate, because it only had one fastening screw. When it came it had two fastening screws and not with just one like in the photo. I was so happy about this great product that I ordered two more. 5

[1/4"-20] This plate is well-made, attaches securely, and seems compatible with quick-release receivers from several different manufacturers (including the Kessler Crane Kwik Release Receiver). I'll be buying more in a few different lengths to have on hand. 5

[1/4"-20] Previously I had purchased plates from a well known maker. I decided to purchased the Desmond DPL-115 Quick Release Plate to use on my Canon RF 100-500mm lens based on its reviews. I found the quality to be comparable to the name brand. In the end do you really need a name brand plate when this one is as good at a fraction of the cost? 5

[1/4"-20] I ordered this not knowing that my ProMediaGear GKJr. Katana Pro Aluminum Gimbal Head came with its own plate. I'm glad I ordered this one because when I put the ProMediaGear one on my Sigma 150-600mm lens foot, the plate wouldn't go far enough forward. With the ProMediaGear plate on, I couldn't wrap my right hand around my camera (D850) - the plate was in the way. With the Desmond DPL-150 I was able to slide the plate forward enough to where it didn't interfere with my right hand. The DPL-150 has two little raised ends, that once butted against the lens foot, and plate tightened, the camera and lens do not budge at all when turning left and right. One thing to note is that my Sigma lens foot only has one screw hole, so that leaves the other screw to slide around. I put a stop to that by getting a compatible nut and tightened them. 5
