When I say it works well, that is within the limitations of the lens. It is a manual lens and some of the automatic features of the Nikon lenses are not functional.

A: The feature you are referring to is called Focus Confirmation . Unfortunately this particular lens does not have a focus confirm chip built inside it to communicate the confirmation of focus to the camera. Further there are not any lenses in this specific focal length that are manual focus only which do have it. Other focals with the focus confirm chip are available.
