Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with Nikon d 5200?

A: Yes, but remember since you have a crop sensor (1.5 to 1) the focal length will be 225 - 900mm instead of 150 - 600mm. That's not a bad thing, you will have even more reach. I have both a crop sensor and full frame and use it on both. Great lens.

Q: 2. What should I get, this or the Canon 100-400 II?

A: I have both these lenses. If I had to choose between them, I would keep the Canon. That said, I really like the Tamron for the extra reach.

Q: 3. What is the weight of this lens?

A: 70 ounces, a little less than 4 1/2 pounds

Q: 4. Does this come with end cap,and sun Extension?

A: Yes, it comes with front and rear caps and lens hood.

Q: 5. What is a tap in console used for?

A: It is basically a tool to calibrate your lens. You can find videos on YouTube to help understand what it does and how to use it.

Q: 6. Will this lens work on/with a Nikon F5 film camera?

A: We are not aware of how well this may work with an older Nikon F5 Film Camera.

Q: 7. Will this lens work with the Nikon Df?

A: Yes, it works. But don't expect it be better than Nikon 200-500 mm. Image quality is very good. But it is slow for focusing, and frequently lost tracking.

Q: 8. Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 for Nikon F Or Sigma Sport 150-600 mm lens which would you recommend?

A: After using the Tamron G2 all summer shooting eagles, osprey, herrings and other wildlife, it has brought me stunning consistent results with my Df. (D4 sensor) Since I shoot a lot from the water I like that it can take some light water splashes. I almost went with the Nikon but wanted better seals, more reach, better sharpness at the long end and like the metal main body supporting things. I had an older 600 mm prime but the weight was too much and was not sharper. The Sport is also a great lens but did not test quite as sharp from the many reviews I have read and it is a lot heaver and cost more.

Q: 9. What is the length of the arca foot?

A: I measure 92mm or 3 & 5/8 inches.

Q: 10. Will this work on a sony a6000?

A: The Tamron lens (which I own & REALLY like) is A mount & the A6000 camera systems are E mount. Sony makes an adaptor for A to E . Buy it & enjoy this great lens! (If memory serves there may actually be 2 different adaptors available. My suggestion is to get the more expensive one, but ask the B & H folks for their advice on this).

[Neoprene rubber] This cover was a piece of cake to put together, lay everything out and line up the sections, they all fit perfectly, great protection against scratches and helps to stop the glare off the barrel when shooting wildlife.

[0.3 lb] I use this on my lens primarily to keep it from getting scratched. It works and looks great. The only improvement I would suggest is that a mark or sticker be used to label each piece so that it is easier to follow the assembly instructions. Other than that, I am really happy with this product.

[6 x 4 x 1.5"] I find lens covers useful because they protect lenses from scratches and scrapes, plus they substitute a soft, slightly compressible surface for the hard metal or plastic that covers lenses. They also purport to provide camouflage for lenses because they can have camo-type patterns. I actually don't think animals are fooled by the camouflage, so for me a plain black lens cover is just as appealing as a woodland type.' Lenscoast covers are expensive, no doubt. If a person is handy and resourceful he or she can buy the materials and create covers on a diy basis. But I am not all that handy, so I am willing to pay the price for Lenscoat products for some of my lenses, i.e., the larger ones. The only competing products, made in the UK, are less expensive but the maker made the error of using slippery, smooth, two-sided fabric , instead of Lenscoat's practice of using material that is smooth on the outside but a bit grippy on the inside. The grippy side of Lenscoat's material prevents the cover from sliding around. It's a better design. The only issues with Lenscoat lens covers is that the cover pieces can obscure zoom millimeter scales, plus there is a need for a small cutout for a lens lock. To me, these matters are trivial when compared to the protection the covers provide. Until another company comes along and provides real competition, Lenscoat will remain the only real game in town when it comes to lens covers. Their products are very good.
