The 1 RU MRS-1608MVS 8-Output 3G/HD/SD-SDI Multiview Display System from Gra-Vue is based on a modular design and provides up to 16 input signals. A: 1) Yes both HDMI and SDI are active with the Mulitiview output. 2) The ability to Solo a single input is available through the DIP switches on the side. The bottom of the MV has a chart for the DIP switch settings also found in the manual. 3) With the MV4 you can display the 2x2 or Solo modes.

A: No, each input is independent. We have several different resolutions coming into ours. From Blackmagic's website: "You get full frame re‑synchronization on all SDI inputs, which means that they can be any video standard and frame rate, and each input is completely independent of the others."

Q: 4. I know it's not for this, but has anyone tried putting a quad 4k signal into this?

A: If you feed it a 4K UHD quad-link SDI signal (square division), it will display the 4 images as 1. However, since it's not designed for that there may be tearing in the video.

A: No. There is only 4x4 output.

Q: 6. I know this only outputs a 1080 signal but will it accept multiple 4K SDI inputs and down convert?

A: It will not. The maximum input it supports is 1080p.

Q: 7. From my research the answer is a no, but can it take 2 inputs and flip the monitor vertically to fill the screens? Meaning, if I use only 2 camera inputs and use the monitor like iPad, can it show 2 inputs top and bottom with maximizing screen real estate?

A: Unfortunately no, the multiview layout is a 2x2 grid and is not alterable.

Q: 8. Does it power completely off when the power button is pressed while on battery?

A: If the power button is pressed on the ANDYCINE A7 it will draw power when the light is on. Removing the battery would eliminate this issue. Power does not completely shut down when a battery is attached.
