Q: 1. Do I have embedded audio singal on the SDI-output of this converter?

A: This converter will de-embed audio from the SDI Input. The SDI Output will be the same as the SDI Input. No change to the signal. So if there is audio on the SDI input, there will be audio on the SDI output.

Q: 2. I see there are mini switches on this, what numbers to do you have on?

A: Hi Maria -Assuming that you want Analog audio out, leave all the DIP switches off. If you want digital audio out (AES) the switch positions are silkscreened on the unit. Just a note: Some Blackmagic mini converters use one switch for processing on or off which you'll need in the on position for the unit to work. This doesn't apply to this one (SDI to Audio) but to some of the others available in this product line.

Q: 6. Sony DSR 300 or DSR 250 which has BNC connector can it be use to HDMI? Our church add a new room with two large monitor up front and all the AV is new. We are still using Sony DSR 300 and Sony DSR 270 which is great for us. The church has a wall plate and on that plate is audio and video connector. The video connector looks like it a BNC but it is HDMI. Is there anyway I can get the cameras to show on the monitor?

A: No, this is not compatible. It does have a BNC connection but it is an SDI output via a BNC connector. You should opt instead for B&H#: OCOMXCVHDMI with B&H # PEABNCRC1.

Any good quality SDI cable with full size BNC connectors will be fine for carrying the SDI signal as long as it's rated for the combination of format and distance you need, most of the quality cable manufacturers have tables available that show the maximum distance each cable will reliably carry the format you are intending to use. B&H stock a great selection of cables and their experts are really knowledgable (as well as friendly!) so I'm sure they will help you choose a suitable one if you can let them know the format you are sending (for example: 720p25, 1080p60) and also the length of cable you need. A: Most of the racks that we install for clients are left on, but plugged into a battery backup/surge protector.

A: No. It simply maintains whatever format is input and converts to SDI or HDMI.
