Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this work with the Nikon p900

A: Yes this will work with the Nikon P900.

Q: 2. Does this work with vintage mirror lens such as a Lentar 500mm?

A: This will work with any larger lens that does not come with a collar.

Q: 3. Can this be used with a Wimberly Gimbal head?

A: This lens support is for a lens that lacks a tripod collar, so it would be a support system on its own.

Q: 4. What is the smallest length of lens this support will work with?

A: You can reverse the sliding support arm and adjust it to touch the base of the camera if needed

Q: 5. is it working with sigma 14mm f1.8 attached with MC-11 AT Mefoto roadtrip tripod?

A: This is a universal fitting mount with an adjustable sliding color. The Sigma 14mm should fit in if you slide the support to the back.

Q: 6. Is it compatible with camcorders as well as SLR's?

A: Well, I didn't use it with camcorders. However, the general idea is to support the body and the lens in a manner not to cause much pressure on the mount. If that would help in recording then let it be! But I doubt controlling it would be much of an easy task. I don't know the size of camcorders, but the total expansion of this arm is somewhere around 40cm; would that be good for camcorders?

Q: 7. Will this support M42 types lenses, such as the Russian Tair 3 and a SMC Takumar 200 mm f/4? I would also like to know if the bracket itself can slide up and down on the tripod for camera/ lens balancing?

A: Not sure about those specific lenses. There is no slider but the bottom plate of the supports has several points below the plate to attach it to a tripod (3x 1/4 holes and 3x 1/8 holes). There is about 5 inches (12cm) between the the most forward and rearward holes so you can play with this lenght to balance the camera.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Nikon AF-S 80-400mm?

A: I use it with my Nikkor 70-300. The front strap could fit better but really you are just balancing your lens/camera so the front strap doesn't do much IMO.

Q: 9. Is that lens support work with Nikon p1000 also I use Benro 5-section tripod with NOO ballhead

A: That strap will not work with a P1000.

Q: 10. Will it work with the Sony 55-210 on a Alpha a6300 body? Also, can I mount this piece on my Promaster Fluid head tripod?

A: Yes, this will fit your camera. You will need to thread this device into your previous existing head.

[1.4 lb (620 g)] I have a Nikon Fieldscope III which has a tripod mount on middle to front part of the scope. I added a Nikon FSA-L1 adapter and Camera for Digiscoping. Using the Fieldscope mount made it back heavy. Using the camera mount made it front heavy. The Lens Support is perfect for this digiscoping solution.

[Aluminum] Sought to buy the missing unit for a recently acquired Nikon ED 300mm f/4.5 and encountered prices the likes of which i'd only seen in the vintage audio market. A previous purchase (China cheap) did not fit this lens but keeping it for an eventual other purchase.
Was looking at a unit I thought would fit and decided to engage a BH sales person who quickly found out it was not, and provided me a link to this unit.
Manfrotto, which I previously thought of as a maker of expensive gear corrected that perception. This is a really, really fit for this lens that is built like a Sherman tank. It's easily fitted and solid as a rock. For my uses at least, this is a well-built and very adjustable support. I am sure I will find something I don't particular care for but, at this price, I'm more likely to remember it's not that bad :-)

[1.4 lb (620 g)] Using the support to use longer lenses created a sort of trapazoid that made everything sharp at any speed. Amazingly this worked better than having the camera directly on the tripod. It also reduced stress on the camera lens mount. I do much at slow shutter speeds and this has helped the look of my images greatly. My only wish with the holder is if it could be made to take slightly shorter lenses as well. Believe me only a tiny point. Thanks again.

[1/4" and 3/8"] I needed to make a few changes to use this product to fit my particular lens and battery grip. The quick release that came on the support assembly made the lense sit to high to fit in the front support groove. So I also purchased a flat quick release assembly to replace the one that came with the lens support. The flat quick release lowered the camera body and lense to set in the front V support quite nicely. Am happy with the product.

[1.4 lb (620 g)] I use it to balance my dslr with telephoto lens on declination axis of star adventurer. Although it is heavy, it helps with balancing and also feels nicer to use it with heavy tele prime lenses like samyang 135mm f2.0. Less tension on dslr's bayonet.

[1/4" and 3/8"] I was worried that this wouldn't adjust to fit my giant old Russian 500mm, but it all fitted together in moments. Perfect fit. The camera attachment pivots so that the lens will rest neatly on the end support no matter the diameter. It's all very solid and secure and I use this off the tripod to keep everything together. Since I already have a Manfotto tripod I attached another quick release plate under the whole assembly to snap on and off the tripod. Great !

[1/4" and 3/8"] Very sturdy and well built. It works on most tripods and especially great for the Nikon P1000.
It lacks instructions. You have to figure it out on your own but it is not hard to do.

[1/4" and 3/8"] This is a great item, I don't have a built in lens tripod mount, works for the Lumix tele lens 1.7 on the FZ 300
