Q: 1. Can the Sample Rate be changed to 44khz?

Q: 2. I have a power bank with 2 usb-a ports, (1) 5V 2.1A and (1) QC 2.0: 5V 2A - 9V 2A - 12V 2A, in this case do I have to plug both USB-A’s ? Or this could damage my device ?

A: If you’re using the MX-USBY cable you should plug both USB-A ports (Data & Power) into the same destination to properly power the MixPre. MX-USBY: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1333784-REG/sound_devices_mx_usby_y_cable_usb_c_to_2x.html We also recommend looking at our Powering Options page to get a list of powering methods that we have tested: https://www.sounddevices.com/mixpre-3-mixpre-6-powering-options/ Any powering method/battery bank not on that list means it has been tested and we cannot guarantee it will work as expected.

Q: 5. Can I use the FX send on this unit to do a mix-minus for a podcast, when attached to a phone--that is, without applying any effects? From the manual it sounded like the FX knob would only send to the internal FX, but I see that FX jack on the console. Thanks!

A: You should be able to use the FX send without applying any effects and it should work to do a mix-minus setup.

Q: 6. Good day! What variant of warranty’s I get if buy 888 for 7900$??

A: There's a Limited 1-Year Warranty, Extendable to 2 Years upon Registration. However if you would like a protection plan that covers drops and spills B&H offers separately square trade plans for both 2 or 3 years of full coverage see prices in the website when adding the item to the cart.

Q: 7. Clarifying question: are left and right outs related in any way to stereo vs mono? Do both left and right out play the full sound output?

A: The signals from the left and right main outputs of the Mackie ProFX10v3 10-Channel Sound Reinforcement Mixer with Built-In FX are influenced by the "Pan" selection of each channel. The pan knob determines which side of the mix each channel's signal is sent to. For instance, channel 1 could be panned hard left, and channel 2 hard right, and channel 1 would only come out of the left main output while channel 2 only came out of the right main output. Panning can be done definitively to either side or anywhere in between, and the main outs will accurately interpret these selections in their output signal.

Q: 8. What type USB cable is necessary for connecting a computer to the mixer's USB?

A: This mixer's USB connection requires a USB Type-B cable such as BH #PECUAMUBM6 .

Q: 9. How does "timecode support" work? How is the timecode generated in the MixPre-6 synchronized with or connected to the camera(s) (Canon EOC Cxxx for example)? I presume when this is done correctly I don't need to record scratch audio on the cameras for sync'ing in post?

A: The MixPre can work with TC a couple different ways: You can set the 3.5mm TRS Aux Input as Timecode in (although that means you won't be able to use channels 5&6 for audio); You can set the 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output as timecode out (although that then means you won't be able to use your mixer's line out); or you can input timecode via the micro-HDMI if you connect your camera's video output (although I've had trouble with introducing interference noise messing around with the HDMI port). So, you've got a few options here. If you don't mind being tethered, you can connect your camera to the mixer and feed timecode one direction or the other. Of course, that will burn an input or output on your mixer and you'll be tied down, so that might not be preferable. The other option (that doesn't require more gear, and won't require you to burn an input/output) is to "jam" sync. Basically, before you start shooting, connect them up and jam timecodes to get them in lockstep. Then you can detach, and even change your settings on your mixer to get your inputs & outputs back. I'm not a huge fan of this method, because some devices lose their sync when you power off & change batteries, so if it's a complicated, hectic shoot and you lose sync for some reason, you might not know till later. Plus, if you've decided to use your 3.5mm in/outs for a different purpose, now you'll have to unplug things and menu-dive to re-jam, which may not be workable in a rush. The third option, which is what I'm planning on doing for my next shoot, is to use an external device (like a Tentacle Sync or UltraSync or Locket Box or Deity BPTRX) to feed consistent timecode into both devices. That way you can set your timecode on your TC boxes, then mount those to your devices and trust that they'll keep everybody marching to the beat of the same drum. For me, this is the best compromise, because I don't want to send TC out of my MixPre (because I need the stereo output for monitoring and I don't want to re-configure on set), and I don't need my aux inputs on 5 & 6, so I'm okay burning that input for my TC in. That said, there's still nothing wrong with getting a scratch track for reference on your camera. It's probably a good idea to have *some* reference audio there for a multitude of reasons. Hope this helps.

Q: 10. if I want to use a Shure SM7B with this recorder, do I need to use a cloud lifter with it?

A: The microphone inputs on the Sound Devices 833 Multitrack Field Recorder provide up to +76 dB of gain which is sufficient for use with the Shure SM7b Vocal Microphone, so a Cloud Lifter is not needed.

[8] I bought this to install in a church. We had a 137-foot run under the stage, down the side of the auditorium, and over to the mixing console, so a 150-foot snake was perfect. The cable and connectors are durable and tolerated us pulling through twisty paths and around corners for our 137 distance. Once everything was connected, we tested all lines and everything worked perfectly. Couldn't be happier!

[8] We have installed this in our project studio between the control room and our tracking room. 8 XLR mic inputs into the control room on USA made high quality 24ga mic cables, and 4 TRS stereo headphone returns to the tracking room. What a great solution and at a great B&H price. ProCo is quality stuff, Very Pleased!

[8] Very happy with this product. For being 150 feet long it coils compactly and is relatively light weight - which is perfect for the tour we are taking it on.

[8] I've used ProCo for years and was concerned that these StageMASTER cables were not labeled on the sleeves, but I contacted ProCo and it's an issue with COVID, again. The quality seems fine and they assured me that they have the full, lifetime warranty. So far the sound quality is fine and the cable quality is excellent for the price.

[8] I help run a convention and asked that they purchase this box to make setting up the main stage a lot easier. It was great having one central location for all my connections on stage. The box was very ruggedly designed. This was possibly one of the best purchases we made this year.

[8] I use this as a sub snake at Church. This replaces a bunch of long microphone cables to the back wall. I use two of these snakes to split up the vocalists and keep cable clutter to a minimum. I am pleased with the build quality. The only suggestion would be to make the channel numbers larger/easier to read.
