Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What hand do you hold the bracket with?

A: This bracket is made for use on the right side of the camera in front of the camera's grip where your right hand will go. It doesn't appear that you have to hold the bracket but you'd use your right hand to control the movements.

Q: 2. Can this be used on Nikon 200-50mm Tripod Collar? Thanks

A: If you're asking if you can attach it to the bottom of the foot that's on the tripod collar yes it will work there.

Q: 3. Is this a good flash bracket for wildlife photography? Someone recommended it, but I am not sure how it will work with a Better Beamer. Most of the articles I saw had this picture attached to the Gimbal head. I am not sure if it will work as well attached to the camera. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

A: It gets you farther away from the camera which helps with long lenses, so it will be unlikely to cast a shadow. It is easy to use on a gimbal head since it is a arca plate on the bottom, so it will fit right into any gimbal.

Q: 4. How is this different from version I that was discontinued?

A: The difference in design is the discontinued version only works with tall cameras like ones with a battery grip. The new version can work with a camera with or without a grip.

Q: 5. Is 3inch including strap loops? Does it not block battery door of D750?

A: The 3 inch dimension of the PX3 does not include the strap loops. And the current version has fixed strap loops, and not the removable loops as shown in the picture. This prevented me from opening the battery door on my Rebels. I'm not sure about the D750.I ended up getting the DTB-60, which has multiple screw slots that allow much more flexibility with positioning. I used them on 2 Rebels during a trip to Italy, and they worked great. The rubber padding keeps the plate from twisting, and the strap loops allow me to mount a hand strap on the right, and a neck strap on the left. I have since ordered more of these plates for my other cameras. The DTB-60 is also half the price of the PX3.

Q: 6. Looks like a great bracket! How about a left hand version?

A: This one is not reversible, but they do sell a left side version. Heck, you can mount one one both sides!

Q: 7. Does it fits Canon 77D?

A: Yes. The plate will fit the Canon 77D and is an Arca Compatible Mounting Plate. The plate features a standard 1/4-20 camera screw that adjusts up/down on the bottom your camera for optimal fit and is Universal.

Q: 8. Is it compatible with a RRS ball head?

A: Yes, the ProMediaGear Universal 3.0" Arca-Type Quick Release Plate (Black) is compatible with RRS ball heads.

Q: 9. If the screws aren't for moving the strap loops will the plate work properly without them since they might scratch surfaces?

A: The screws are there as a safety measure. Properly adjusted, they will allow you to move the plate in a loosely tightened clamp without letting the plate slide out completely. The plate will work without them, but if your camp is designed to accommodate them I highly recommend you leave them in place.

Q: 10. Can this bracket be attached to a tripod or monopod?

A: Absolutely. The Bracket Plate on the Bottom (PBX3-BD) is Arca Type. 1.5 width. To attach to non-Arca Standard Heads there are 1/4-20 screw holes on the bottom to mount a plate.

[0.065 lb] I have two cameras (Canon M50 and Panasonic Lumix FZ1000) that have the tripod mount WAY too close to the battery compartment and most QR plates block access to the battery/card. This small plate works well for this situation.

[Aluminum] If you own one of these odd ball cameras, you know that traditional plates fit really weird on them. This one fits so nicely, I just leave it on even if I don't bring a tripod. The weight it adds is negligible, still easy to pack into a sling, and the two anti-slip pads do their job when mounted parallel to the body's shape. Thumbs up from me.

[0.065 lb] I put these on all my small travel cameras, such as point-and-shoots and GoPros. They help keep the weight low for backpacking, and let me mount a camera very quickly onto a tripod or monopod with a QR clamp. As you can imagine, it's no fun to screw a camera onto a tripod over and over when you're traveling down the trail. The QR clamp/plate combo speeds that up immensely.

There are other small QR plates out there, but I like this one best because it also has a tripod thread in it. It is surprising how many don't. So if you need to use someone else's tripod with no QR clamp, you can still do it, without having to remove the QR plate.
