Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this on my sinhieser xwd wireless lav to connect to my c100 mark 2 with the top handle attacged

A: Hello Ben. The VXLR Plus is a 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male adapter and converts phantom power of P48 down to plug in power (2-5v). If that's what you need to do and you have the proper connections then, yes, it should work. If you don't need power then the Rode VXLR would work just as well.

Q: 2. Sanken COS-11D Omni Lavalier Mic With a Sennheiser 3.5 EW connector work properly with this adapter please?

A: My previous answer may be inaccurate. Some COS-11D microphones are 48V Phantom and some are +3V to +10V. You will need to determine the power requirements of your microphone. The VXLR Plus provides 5 Volts.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with balanced or unbalanced XLR?

A: The VXLR+ is designed to convert high voltage phantom power used with pro balanced XLR mic inputs into much lower bias voltage (plug-in power) that is needed by many unbalanced electret condenser mics like lavalier mics and shotgun style camera mics.

Q: 4. If I want to connect my Røde videomicro to a recorder or mixer with an XLR input should I use this and switch on phantom power or will a dummy 3.5mm to XLR suffice without phantom power?

A: The VideoMicro does require plugin power. So yes, you will use the VXLR Plus to convert Phantom to Plugin.

Q: 5. If I plug a stereo mic to the VXLR+, does it mix both channels into one mono? Or this just uses one of both stereo channels?

A: When using the Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter with a stereo microphone, the output will be summed to dual mono. Please note that most microphones with a 3.5mm TRS connector provide dual mono output signal and not true stereo output. An actual stereo microphone will have two mic elements instead of one.

Q: 6. Can I use this to connect my RodeMicGo to my Sony Fs7?

A: Yes, you can use the VXLR+ which is designed for use with microphones that require plug-in power.

Q: 7. Can I use this with a Xlr splitter? I want to split a Lav mic into two inputs.

A: This would not be a recommended practice.

Q: 8. Can this allow me to use a RODE videomicGO on a SONY HXR-NX100? The Sony only has XLR inputs.

A: It should. I use it on all my cameras that have XLR inputs and it works great.

Q: 9. I have a pair of rode videomicros (requires plugin power) and a pair of wireless lavaliers. I will be using them interchangeably depending on the project. I want to get 2 of this item because the videomicro requires power but I need to know if it will still pass the signal without phantom power because the lavaliers don't need plugin power?

A: Yes, this will pass audio without power.

Q: 10. Can this be used as an adapter for PA's or DJ's desks into a XLR input on a recorder?

A: The Rode VXLR+ 3.5mm TRS Female to XLR Male Adapter with Phantom Power Converter is typically used to adapt microphones with 3.5mm wiring to XLR inputs, however this adapter could presumably work in the same manner with a line level 3.5mm connection from a DJ deck into a line level XLR input on a recorder.

[0.25 lb] Best cables on the market for the price point and quality. I've been using Whirlwind cable since 2001 and they have never let me down. Here again it's 2021, 20 years later and these cable are still the best. Thank you B&H for carrying them and thank you Whirlwind for making such a quality cable. Here's to another 20 years.

[Whirlwind] I am loving my new XLR cable. I came into B&H not knowing which cable i needed and how much they were. The adviser in the pro audio department went through a few options and I picked the Whirlwind 6 ft cable. It was a great price and great quality. I'm going to come into b&h more often to buy all my equipment.

[22 AWG] It is perfect in every way that I'll ever use it, which is connecting a wireless mic to a small mixer (Shure PGXD to Mackie 402-VLX3). I don't know how flexible it is when it's cold, but I get the impression that it'll be better than most.
