The Slider Stand from Matthews is a strong, wide-based stand with a low working height for those using camera sliders and pipe dolly systems. The stand receives any slider or dolly equipped with a 1-1/8" junior pin.

This stand features a minimum working height a full foot shorter than a standard "low-boy" combo stand, making this the ideal solution for comfortably operating camera sliders. Its universal design also makes the Slider Stand acceptable for ground-level mounting of large heavy lights. Two "Rocky Mountain" adjustable legs allow for easy leveling on unsteady terrain, ensuring smooth camera movement on location. Accessories for the stand like wheels, a baby ball head adapter, a Magic Finger, and a 5/8" stud adapter are available separately.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How tight does the baby pin receiver hold? I am trying to avoid any wobble on my slider.

A: The Impact SLI-STAND Slider Stand (45") uses heavy-duty steel tubes and steel legs to securely support slider systems, cameras, and light fixtures weighing up to 88 lb. It has an adjustable height of up to 45" and two leveling legs to assure sturdy and level support for smooth tracking with a camera that's always parallel with the horizon.

Q: 2. Are these just as supportive as the Dana Dolly stands by American Grip?

A: The Slider Stand offers more stable support than the Dana Dolly Stand. It has wider footprint as well as a lower minimum height. It also offers a standard Junior receiver so that the stand can be used for many other purposes than solely a slider making it much more versatile option.

Q: 3. what is the length of this item when folded?

A: 25.12

Q: 4. How much weight can this securely hold and still provide a smooth slide on longer lenses (200mm)?

A: The E-Image ES50 Slider has a capacity of 17lbs/8kg. Whatever camera/lens weight combination you have, if it is under this weight, you should not have any issues.

Q: 5. Can this be mounted to a wall and still allow a camera to slide?

A: You may be able to modify the Revo 47" Camera Track Slider with Adjustable Feet by removing the feet or removing the feet and drilling holes for screw attachment to a wall.

Q: 6. Is this stand compatible with Matthews 249563 casters?

A: The Matthews slider stand legs are the same size as impact slider stand so the wheels should fit.

Q: 7. I've got a Konova K5 120 cm slider. What other gear do I need to mount it to the Matthews Slider Stand?

A: you'll need a couple of junior spuds to screw onto the bottom of you slider to then drop onto the slider stands.

Q: 8. Could you use just one of these stands to support a smaller portable slider, like a 3' Kessler Cineslider? I know you can use a single tripod for that slider so I was curious if I could get away with a single stand.

A: We do not recommend this for use as a single stand for a slider.

Q: 9. Can this unit be motorized? Is the rail an IGUS 1080 or similar?

A: I motorized mine DIY style for $25 with a Celstron low rpm motor.

Q: 10. On a scale of 1 to 5, how sturdy do you think this stand will be when extended to nearly its full height and topped with a 36" x 16" surface weighing about 15 lbs?

A: 6 built like a rock.

[2] At 14 lbs a piece, they're not for everyone - but with that weight comes the stability that's prompted you to read this review.

Built like a tank, they will finally remove that wobble you're getting with c-stands and setup far faster than tripods. I've just wrapped my first professional slider-heavy gig and have ordered two more.

I'm using them with Benro LBA2 bases and Kupo Baby Ball Head adapters with great success for 12' Syrp Magic Carpet Pro slides.

A single stand works great with my Edelkrone Slider Pro XL, Slide Module and Head Plus. It's made that package a joy to bring out again.

[Yes] Very well built. Used on many music video productions, narrative films, and a TV show. Versatile. Beefy. Nice weight to it. Folds up compact enough to not take up too much space in the trailer. Very happy with the purchase.

[26.5 x 7 x 6"] Yet another terrific product by Matthews. I had looked at other slider stands and glad I chose Matthews - these are built like tanks, have the level legs and hold the 4' and 8' poles with zero movement.

[1-1/8" Receiver] I use two stands with a Dana Dolly setup. The stands are robust and well made. They hold my rails securely.
Not the lightest tripod in the world but if you want rigid you need some heft.

[Optional] This stand is great! Pricey yes, but worth it to get this height range and life long durability. It was clearly specifically made for a slider as it is rock solid at every height. Love the size portability. Very easy to store.

[Yes] I don't own a slider, although I may purchase a Dana Dolly or similar in the future. I purchased this stand because it's versatile, stable, and compact when collapsed. I also purchased a 1 1/8 to 5/8 adapter and a 1 1/8 to 3/8 adapter. The stand has a wide footprint and can take caster wheels. For me, the height range (24 to 46) has many uses. I'll use it to support lights, light modifiers, a computer, and in some cases as a camera support. Very happy with the build quality.
