Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this finderscope work and attach to a Skywatcher Evostar ED100 Pro refractor?

A: The Explore Scientific 8x50 Erect Image Illuminated Finder Scope (Straight Viewing) BH #EXVFEI085001 • MFR #VFEI0850-01 should be able to, mount to a Sky-Watcher EvoStar 100mm f/9 Doublet APO Refractor

Q: 2. Will this dovetail work on a Meade 12" LX200 GPS SCT?

A: Th Meade 12" LX200 GPS SCT does not have any screw hole to accept a dove tail plate. If you are referring to the Dual-Ring Quick Release Bracket on the Explore Scientific 8x50 Erect Image Illuminated Polar Finder Scope, the Meade 12" has a much wider diameter then the Explore Scientific.

Q: 3. Does the EXOS nano adj. Knobs move as slowly as the twilight 1 and can you mount a celestron travel 70 on the EXOS Nano?

A: No, the Explore Scientific FirstLight EXOS Nano Mount will not move as slowly as a Twilight 1 mount. As long as you can mount the Celestron Travel 70 on a Vixen-style universal mount, it will mount.

Q: 4. Is it’s dovetail foot suitable for Meade 6000 series 115mm refractor?

A: You would need this finder scope base: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1046161-REG/explore_scientific_fndrbaseblk_finder_scope_base.html

Q: 5. is the bracket a universal dovetail bracket? and what does the illuminated feature look like? like a red dot or what?

A: I have an older Meade LX200 12 , and the dovetail bracket did not fit my scope. I used my existing bracket and placed this finder inside of it. The illumination lights up a crosshair. Instead of simply being two lines that cross over one another, there is an open circle at the center of the crosshair. The included redlight isn't very good though, and I plan to replace it with a model from another manufacturer.

Q: 6. Is this a vixen dovetail mount?

A: It does not have a Vixen dovetail.

Q: 7. What is the weight of the tripod amount? Not the shipping weight but the actual net weight.

A: The tripod in the Explore Scientific FirstLight EXOS Nano Mount with ST1 Tripod kit weighs 17 pounds according to the manufacturer.

Q: 8. Can this finder be adapted to a Celestron Nexstar SLT130?

A: This Finder Scope cannot be adapted onto that 130SLT Model. My sincere apologies. The mounts are very different.

Q: 9. Will the base fit onto stock ES 80ED CF? Can it be used on ES 80ED CF for AP manual guiding ?

A: Yes it will fit your scope and can be used for manual guiding.

Q: 10. Will an Ioptron CEM25p mount attach to this tripod?

A: Yes it will

[50 mm] I purchased this coma corrector after reading online reviewer's recommendations. I'm using it on a 8" f/3.9 imaging Newtonian and after getting the spacing correct I have pinpoint stars across the field. I would recommend this corrector for anyone imaging with a fast scope, you will not be disappointed.

[15.9 oz (451 g)] Ordered from USA to Brisbane on a Monday and received Friday via DHL in time for dark skies on Saturday. WOW
Very light weight but solid. Performed well with Explore Scientific + Tele Vue eye pieces on my Celestron 11 and would highly recommend.

[1.75 lb] Explore scientific oce again confirm its reputation. This eyepiece is really the best in its category, along with rhe Tele Vue Nagler but at half of that price: difficult to do better. Its huge apparent FOV, its contrast and its flat field make it a must for all owners of a long focal SCT.

[6°] Explore Scientific has really made a great finder scope here and it is a nice match for my ES AR152mm scope. Very solid and a sleek look. Very nice magnification and illumination.

[8x] I don't know much about eyepieces but I do have 4 explorer scientific. The 4.5mm and 8.5mm 82 degree, the 17mm 92 degree and the 30mm 82 degree.
I like them all but I really like the 17mm and 30mm.
I can't give any technical details but I can tell you that the 30mm is a pleasure to look through. The same can be said for the 17mm. It would be hard to choose between the two if i could only have one. I guess I would have to go with the 17mm because of the wide field of view plus greater magnification but i would really miss the 30mm.
And I would definitely go with B&H, i recently tried another store in NJ and got ........

[6°] I put this eyepiece on my Celestron EdgeHD 8. It is about the widest FOV that I could pull off the OTA. The view is really crisp with point stars to the edge. I can't see any edge brightening or vignetting. The resolution is enough to clearly see the four stars of M42 Trapezium, Jupiter bands, Saturn rings, and even, barely, Saturn cloud bands.
The eye relief is comfortable to view the entire field, without glasses.
This is a hefty piece. Not a problem on an 8 SCT, but may be awkward on a smaller OTA.

[15.9 oz (451 g)] This is pretty much my favorite eyepiece. Field of view and clarity are amazing; mix that with the 17mm magnification and it's my goto eyepiece for almost anything. If it were forced upon me I would happily use this as my only eyepiece for the rest of my life.

With that said, I must say that the rubber eyecup fell off within a couple days of use and I will need to figure out the repair myself (not a big enough issue to send back). Also, the plastic cap doesn't fit over the top of the eyepiece for storage? What is that about? It's from a different eyepiece model? I wouldn't expect these issues with an otherwise very high quality piece.

Even with these issues I am giving it 5 stars because they do not take away from the amazing viewing experience and overall quality.

[8x] The filter came boxed extremely well. I knew, right off the bat, the product was going to be great. Living in Eastern Idaho, one cannot be sure of the weather and cloud cover. I only had one chance to use it during our club's 5 star parties. 4 got rained out or cloud covered. The filter never got a good critique. I know it will be good and will send in a later review if I can get the scope to a dark site before the temp drops into the teens.
