Q: 1. Anyone ever use this on a Canon Vixia HF G20?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone On Camera Kit is compatible with the Vixia HF G20, and works well. You will need an additional bracket to mount due to the Vixia not having a standard shoe mount. The Vello CB510 is a popular mount for the Vixia and attaches to the bottom of the camera. a href= http://bhpho.to/18xGmNT target= _blank http://bhpho.to/18xGmNT/a

Q: 2. Does the mke 600 support plugin power?

A: The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be powered with a single AA battery or with 48V of phantom power, which is a much higher amount of voltage than plug-in power. Phantom power is delivered through an XLR mic input while plug-in power is typically 1 to 10V and it is delivered through a 3.5mm mic input. The MKE 600 will not work with plug-in power from a 3.5mm mic input, but will work with phantom power from an XLR mic input.

Q: 3. Wanting to know how well this mic "ignores" side noise. We do a lot of quick interviews in bars and brewery taprooms and our Audio-Technica AT875R attached to a Canon XA10 picks up a ton of noise off to the sides of of the mic and camera. Need something that mostly picks up what in front of it. Hoping this mic does?

A: There’s a good video on YouTube demonstrating the 875r, 897 and MKH60 and the 897 seemed to have the best off-axis rejection. https://youtu.be/XyGZA9FQudU

Q: 4. What is the length of the XLR to 3.5mm TRS cable? thanks

A: The Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone includes a coiled XLR to 3.5mm cable that is 15" (40 cm) long. The cable is also available separately as the Sennheiser KA 600 XLR Female to 1/8" TRS Male Connection Cable (B&H # SEKA600) if you need a replacement or spare.

Q: 5. Does this come with a basic windscreen?

A: It does come with a basic cover to help muffle the sound. For outside usage buy the fuzzy wind screen that skips over it. Great Mike super quality. I use it on a boom it work great avbeautiful sound

Q: 6. Can I plug this into the Sony Fx9 without a battery and have it run off of the camera battery/phantom power? Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

A: Yes, the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone can be connected to an XLR input on the Sony PXW-FX9 Full-Frame Camera and activated using phantom power.

Q: 7. How is this mic when used for indoor interviews on a boom?

A: You would connect it to a compatible shockmount and that shockmount would have the threading to screw onto the end of a boompole. Typically the threading for that is 3/8''.

Q: 8. is it balanced mic? in both cases - phantom, battery?

A: I think you're asking if has a balanced input? If so, the answer is yes. With its power switch set to off , it takes phantom power from the mic cable. With the power switch set to on , it powers itself from an internal AA battery.

Q: 9. does anyone use a blimp here? What brand do you recommend? if not, which dead cat/wind screen do you use?

A: I don't use a blimp on the MKE 600, but I due use a Rycote Softie (B&H # RYS15M) that fits perfectly and works okay. I wouldn't rely on the Rycote Softie on a day with wind gusts, but an average windy day is just fine. I use a blimp for our 416 and the difference is definitely demonstrable. In a situation where a blimp is needed, we'd use the MKH 416 anyway.

Q: 10. Will the included XLR to 3.5mm TRS adapter cable allow me to connect this microphone to the Tentacle Sync-E audio recorder?

A: No. The included Sennheiser KA 600 XLR Female to 1/8" TRS Male Connection Cable will not connect directly to the locking input on the Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Audio Recorder because the cable has a non-locking 1/8" (3.5mm) connector. As a better option, you can use the Remote Audio 3-Pin XLR Female to 3.5mm TRS Locking Adapter Cable for Sennheiser G2 Transmitter - 2' (B&H # RECASEK100L) which will connect properly to the recorder's locking input. Or if you do want to use the KA 600 Cable, you can adapt it by adding on the Hosa Technology GMM303 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini to 3.5mm Female Stereo Mini Adapter (B&H # HOASMFSMF) and attaching the Sennheiser CL1 3.5mm to 3.5mm Output Cable for EW Series Camera-Mount Receiver (B&H # SECL1), which has the proper size locking connector.

[Mono] This is a great addition to an existing Dante system. Installation is easy, just need a 2 hole in the ceiling tile and connect CAT6 cable with RJ45. The unit is smaller than anticipated, but the microphone is super sensitive and picks up the entire board room with clarity. The plug-and-play capability of the Dante system and interface is also nice, as it provides power to up to 4 connected devices. A single ceiling mic and interface connected to our existing network has replaced the need to set up table-top mics and a multi-channel mizer and removed the worry about users accidentally muting their mics during a meeting. With some additional Dante interface devices, users can easily connect over our network to ceiling mics with ease. A point of advice for those new to Dante, be sure you are comfortable with the environment requirements, they might seem overwhelming at first, but they are easy to build out and work with existing network infrastructure.

[6 x 2.2 x 1.9"] I was looking for a fixed base mount for a straight mic stand. This is it. Very solid build! Holds a PTZ CAM mounted to our booth wall frame.

[Mono] Sleeve is Uber Awesome and should been included in the basic access point kit. The weakness of this product is its incredibly poorly written directions. However this makes the installation of the access point much more professional looking and elegant. Highly recommended.

[6 x 2.2 x 1.9"] We use these in our studios for communication between the recorder and the reader. The ones that we originally had lasted us 15 years with no problems, until someone damaged the cable. The sound is clear and reliable and they hold up well with continual use!

[White] I was expecting this thing to *sound* like a paging microphone. But it actually sounds really good. We're using it in a restaurant, and the cooks announce that orders are ready from the kitchen using an SM-58, and this mike is at the registers. It sounds just as good as the 58, so my client is very happy.

I would love to have a silicone pad to cover the base, so that grease and liquid won't get into it, but other than that, it's a great-sounding mike, and it worked perfectly right out of the box.
