Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I wire a 3.5mm end to this?

A: Yes, the CUB-01 Boundary Microphone (Beige) comes unterminated and can be terminated with a 3.5mm TRS connector.

Q: 2. Can you use a longer cable than 6 foot? How long of a cable can be used before mic will not work?

A: The MXL AC-404 Portable USB Boundary Conferencing Microphone uses a USB 2.0 specification, which dictates a maximum length of 5 meters / 16 feet before failure.

Q: 3. can you use 2 of the same type microphone with only one transmitter?

A: No, the Movo Photo MC2000 Wireless Boundary Conference Microphone System has a single-channel USB receiver that will accommodate only one wireless microphone/transmitter. The microphones are the wireless transmitters and the wireless receiver is the component that connects to the computer's USB port.

Q: 4. If I got 4 mics, could I line up two in either row and record like this? OR could i line up all 4 in the same row?

A: You can use four of the Olympus ME-33 Boundary Microphones to record in a stereo configuration, with two mics on the left and two on the right. Up to three ME-33 mics can be used together in one line or six mics in two separate lines for a stereo setup. For a stereo setup, you can use a recorder with two separate inputs or use a Y-adapter the Kopul 3.5mm Stereo Y Cable (B&H # KOHPSSM) for a recorder with a single 3.5mm mic input. Here is a link to the user manual for the ME-33 which provides instructions for setting up multiple microphones: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/839691.pdf

Q: 5. Does this microphone have Automatic Gain Control?

A: This microphone does not offer an AGC. Gain levels are adjusted manually.

Q: 6. Is this mic compatible with the Canon XA40?

A: Yes, the Senal MXBM-621/O is compatible for use with the Canon XA40.

Q: 7. What is the difference between MXL AC-404 and the MXL AC-404Z?

A: The mics themselves are identical. The Z is meant to be part of a Zoom conferencing system. The Z ships with mounting tape, a right angle USB cable and also sports a blue LED to match the Zoom color. The non Z does not sport an LED light. If you have a Zoom system, consider the Z version, otherwise the non Z is fine.

Q: 8. When muted, is there a light indicator?

A: Yes, the mute on/off status of the Senal MXBM-621/O MX Series Condenser Boundary Microphone is indicated by a dedicated LED.

Q: 9. Would this mic work for people sitting 4 or 5 feet away? Any idea of the distance this could cover?

A: Yes, the MXBM-621/O can capture audio from people speaking who are 4 to 5 feet apart. The distance for coverage will vary depending on the environment where the mic is being used. The omnidirectional pattern picks up sound from 360 degrees and works best in quiet environments. Mics of this nature are often used for conferences and meetings. The mic is placed in the center of a table and picks up the voices of participants seated around the table.

Q: 10. I want to know how much radius will be covered by single mic ?

A: I looked extensively to find the specs on the coverage of the Olympus ME-33. I couldn't find any specific information including Olympus website. I also called them in Australia no luck. I dont want to make assumptions on the range of this microphone. I have included a link below to their website where you can see a diagram of how many people and how many mics they used to cover them. This should give you a reasonable idea of the distance this mic is effective.https://a href= http://www.olympus.com.au/Products/Voice-Recorders/Audio-Accessories/ME-33.aspx target= _blank www.olympus.com.au/Products/Voice-Recorders/Audio-Accessories/ME-33.aspx/a

[Mono] Working in a correctional facility this is a vital accessory for the officers. The product works great and I will be ordering more soon.

[Low Cut/HPF] I was expecting this thing to *sound* like a paging microphone. But it actually sounds really good. We're using it in a restaurant, and the cooks announce that orders are ready from the kitchen using an SM-58, and this mike is at the registers. It sounds just as good as the 58, so my client is very happy.

I would love to have a silicone pad to cover the base, so that grease and liquid won't get into it, but other than that, it's a great-sounding mike, and it worked perfectly right out of the box.

[Low Cut/HPF] We use these in our studios for communication between the recorder and the reader. The ones that we originally had lasted us 15 years with no problems, until someone damaged the cable. The sound is clear and reliable and they hold up well with continual use!

[Mono] Never could get a full rich natural sound until we installed this mic. It is used for live worship. Really allows for clear separation of tones without losing the natural sound of the piano.

[0.9 lb] I used this for a focus group, paired with an Olympus recorder. It worked fantastic for a small group in a conference room, placed in the center of the table. I can even tell the location of the speaker on the playback.

[Low Cut/HPF] Purchased 4 of these originally to mic a focus group. The 16' cable is a bonus. Worked exactly the way I was expecting.

[Low Cut/HPF] Interestingly, as it is meant to be, you hear better from the side, than if you speak right into the top
