Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I just got this in the mail. Why is the arm greasy? It's like someone sprayed it w/ WD40.

A: Noga Cine Arm DG Hold-It Arm has bit of grease when you pick it up from the box. This is use as lubricant, I will recommend cleaning up the surface if you notice any grease after cleaning the articulated arm it will be consider as defective.

Q: 2. Is this good enough to hold a yolobox ultra and is this gonna fit in a manfrotto 055 tripod easy link thread?

A: The Noga Cine Arm DG Hold-It Arm has a payload capacity that is able to hold a YoloLiv YoloBox Ultra. To connect to a Manfrotto Easy Link, you would need a reducer bushing such as the Oben 3/8"-16 to 1/4"-20 Reducer Bushing (BH #OB1039).

Q: 3. What's the difference between this one Noga Cine Arm DG Hold-It Arm B&H # NODG9014CA MFR # DG9014CA and this one Noga DG9038CA CineArm DG (Medium) B&H # NODG9038CA MFR # DG9038CA? They look the same!! I know one has a 3/8 instead of a 1/4 bottom. I'm using for a shogun flame..thank you guys!!

A: The DG9014 is threaded at both ends of the arm for 1/4-20 thread attachment while the DG9038CA is 1/4-20 top and 3/8-16 bottom.

Q: 4. Manfrotto 143 vs 244? Pros/Cons of each?

A: The Manfrotto 244N has a variable friction control, so you can essentially loosen on portion of the arm while the other remains tight. If you do not need that sort of control, the 143N would have a single locking lever that loosens all the joints equally.

Q: 5. Will this support a Canon 1D MK4 with a 70-200mm lens?

A: That setup can support no more than 6.6 lbs.If you mean the canon 5d Mark IV and lens it is about 5.28 lbs combined. It is too close to the maximum in my opinion and at the least will tip over.I would not recommend that set up with that camera and lens.

Q: 6. What's the max payload this can hold? Want to mount a C300 MKII with Canon 24 -70mm

A: Since the Manfrotto 143N Magic Arm can hold up to 6.6 lbs, the Super Clamp holds 33 lbs and the BackLight Base can also hold up to 33 lbs, the Canon C300 Mark II and Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 II USM can definitely be held securely with this kit.

Q: 7. Is this clamp made entirely of metal?

A: This clamp is made of metal.

Q: 8. How do I attach this to, let's say, a c-stand pole? Do I need extra accessory? Thanks!

A: To attach the Noga Cine Arm DG Hold-It Arm you will need a clamp of some kind, like a crab-clamp or a super-clamp.

Q: 9. will this lock tightly on a 15 mm width flat stock?

A: Yes, this should attach tightly to something that is 15mm wide.

Q: 10. Where can I find just the red rubber grip washer attached to this product please?

A: Try the company 16x9 in California. They importer Noga arms into the US.

[0.63 lb] The reason behind buying this unit was to hold field monitor to a tripod. The quick release plate is invaluable as rather than attempting to screw on the monitor every time the base plate remains on and it slides and locks into place. Too many times have I come close to dropping the Small HD whilst trying to screw it on some other arms. The other great advantage is the tightening lever which is so easy to turn and locks the entire arm in place; compared to trying to twist a circular knob on other models. It is certainly worth the investment.

[5.0" (12.7 cm)] I had been using an articulating arm I purchased from eBay. It worked OK, but when I moved the camera from location to location the monitor would flop and at times I had problems getting it tight enough. One day it broke, so I decided to get the Noga brand Cine Arm. It came with the Cine Lock quick release. Wow, am I glad I got it.
The Noga arm is very durable. Its not too heavy in weight, but it is heavy duty enough for my purposes. I use the Noga Arm to attach a Zacuto Z-Finder EVF Pro to my Canon C-100 video camera. I use another Noga Arm to attach my Marshall Monitor to my camera. I use a rail clamp to attach the Noga Arm to my rail system.
But, the biggest advantage is the Cine Lock quick release. I have been screwing the monitors onto the articulating arm, which takes time and care so I dont drop the monitor. With the Cine Lock quick release it is so much easier and faster to attach and detach the monitor. Efficiency is important when working.
The Noga Arm is a little pricy, but well made and worth it and it comes with the Cine Lock quick release which is really worth it.
Im glad I made the purchase.
