The Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine Lens Nikon F Mountis a wide-angle lens optimized for digital cinematography. The lens produces an image circle that will cover APS-C sized sensors or smaller. For use with a follow focus unit, the focus and aperture rings feature industry-standard 0.8 pitch gearing. The aperture ring is also de-clicked to allow for smooth iris pulls while shooting. Focus, aperture, and depth of field markings are on the side of the lens to aid focus pullers, who typically operates on the side of the camera.

With an angle of view of 109.5°, the lens is well-suited for shooting landscapes, architecture, and for use in tight interior locations. One extra-low dispersion element (ED) and two aspherical elements have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images. Additionally, a Nano Coating System (NCS) has been applied to the lens elements in order to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for improved light transmission and more contrast-rich imagery.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi I was wondering what it means when it says Covers APS-C Sized Sensors under product highlights. I have a Canon 60D so will this lens crop in so that it isn't as wide as 10mm? Thanks.

A: The 60D is an APS-C sensor and this lens will cover that sensor. It will not cover a full aperture sensor. Remember that lens have a focal length and are designed for a spefic coverage area. Both have to be considered when purchasing a lens.

Q: 2. Is this a fish-eye lens?

A: This lens produces a a 105.9 angle-of-view when used on cameras with APS-C-sized sensors. In order to get a fish-eye you would need a lens with a 180 view. For contrast, a 38mm lens on a APS-C sensor will produce a 43 FOV. What you will get with this lens is a very wide image with minimal barrel-distortion.

Q: 3. Can I use it with my canon t5i?

A: Yes you can, remember that this is a cinema lens, you can't use it automatic for pictures, just manual...

Q: 4. Will this lens work on a Super 35 Sensor camera such as a C100/C300?

A: Although the lens has not been tested specifically on the two cameras listed, APS-C and S35 are close in dimension and the lens won't have any issue mounting to those cameras. If suffering slight vignetting on the C100 with this lens, the camera offers an EF-S lens mode option which crops into image slightly to remove that vignetting.

Q: 5. on the BMPCC 4k camera this lens will act like a 20mm?

A: The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K has a 1.9x crop factor. This 10mm lens will give you the field of view of a 19mm lens.

Q: 6. Does the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS lens has a filter thread?

A: The 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Canon EF Mount for APS-C does not offer a filter thread.

Q: 7. Does this lens allow me to put ND filters?

A: You have two possible solutions. First down and dirty. Get Kodak Wratten gel and adhere it to the rear of the lens. Link to the filters http://bhpho.to/1Ko46JRHere is the adhesive I would use, just on the edges of the filter. 3M Scotch 1/2 ATG Adhesive Transfer Tape 924 (0.50 x 36 yd. 2.0 mil Roll)Watch out, these gels are delicate and expensive. Fine scissors, tweezers and white gloves are good ideas.A matte box is more elegant, easier and longer lasting. The outside of the lens is 87mm so the 114mm to 87mm adapter will allow you to mount the matte box on it. This matte box is shallow enough to work on the 10mm lens. You can also remove the matte box and just use the mount to hold the glass filters in place. Q: 8. I need this lens to take photographs only. What is the difference (besides the price) between buying this lens from the other rokinon 10mm?

A: The glass elements of both the Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Sony E Mount for APS-C and the Rokinon 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS Lens for Sony E-Mount are for all intents and purposes, the same. Therefore you will get the same image quality with both lenses and even the same brightness since f/2.8 and T/3.1 allow the same amount of light through. The difference comes with the housing and the purpose the lens is for, video or stills. For you, get the 10mm f/2.8 ED AS NCS CS Lens since it is much more affordable and you do not need the other lens's video gears.

Q: 9. Hello, I'm looking at this 10mm Rokinon lens and the 14mm for my Sony A-Mount A65 DSLR, but figured I'd post it here because the Canon mount is more viewed.I've gotten a few different answers from B&H repsare either the 14mm or 10mm Rokinon Cine lenses fisheye? I'm looking for a super wide option, but want minimal distortion (not fish-eye). Looking for clarification. Thanks!

A: Hey, yes i have the lens, its absolutely super. It looks much like the Zeiss 50mm f2.0 lens i own, although i think this lens looks better! Its de-clicked and very sharp, even at the edges, where i thought i would have sharpness issues. and then its 1/10 of the price of the Canon Cine Lens. its a great purchase, and yes its not a fisheye. If i was to buy into the Cine lens series, i would get the Rokinon series for sure.

Q: 10. can be mounted on canon t4i camera?

A: The Rokinon 10mm T3.1 Cine DS Lens with Canon EF Mount for APS-C is compatible with the Canon T4I.

[Nikon F] I shoot live agency band video's I needed a lens that was less wide then my Rokinon 8mm fisheye. I also needed some clarification that this lens would not have the fisheye look even though it's only 2mm longer in focal length. I called B&H and got a TOYALLY helpful gentleman who took the time to verify that this lens would not have the fisheye look... He assured me. I ordered it and the next day it arrived. The day after that, was shoot day. I had to modify (VERY slightly) the opening on my D'Matte box that I have installed on the GlideCam. The shots are sharp as a tack edge to edge (as long as I was in the range I had pre set on the lens) I'm still working on my e-focus puller, but true to wide angles DOF is fairly generous just not as generous as the 8mm fisheye. The 8mm is sharp enough but can use a stop down to sharpen it up a tad. Not so with the 10mm it's a tad faster and wide open its sharper than the 8mm. Folks this is a Cine lens... So I could care less if after blowing up a still photo, from it, (you might find it less than perfect), but for HD video on an APS-C sensor'd 7d mark I.... It's BRILLIANT. Oh and BTW the man at B&H was correct the 10mm did not give a fisheye effect, but of course you get a different type of perspective distortion at the edges as you should expect from an ultra wide angle lens that is flattening out 105 degrees (or so) of coverage. A great and completely different, yet complimentary, look to my fisheye.

[Super35/APS-C] I bought the MFT version. Focal length is equal to 28mm. Great for wide shots. My only complaint is that I wish the lens was faster but it's very clear. I have the Rokinon 24mm and 80mm. Hopefully in the future I can own the whole set!

[2.15 lb] Very cinematic quality on the BMPCC6k. Flare isn't bad, contrast is good, very sharp, no distortion. Build quality is great for it's price range. Gotta love Rokinon.

[Super35/APS-C] This is a great lens, but I will only be using it on a tripod. I use it on a Lumix camera with a Metabones Speed Booster. I already had the Speed Booster, and went for the EF mount for that reason along with being able to mount it directly on my BMPCC 6K. There's no way I would use without a tripod however. It's just too heavy to make that any fun at all. Besides that, by the time you dial in the exposure and focus, the shot could be gone. So static scenes are the best use for this lens.

[10mm] I am using this most for interior video shooting, especially showcasing real estate properties. I really needed that extra wide angle that this lens provides. Extremely useful for steadicam work. I like the declicked aperture. When combined with a focus pull, this is really helpful when shooting in homes with varies light conditions; large windows, etc.
