The TASCAM DP-03SD 8-Track Digital Recorderfrom TASCAM DP-03SD 8-Track Digital Recorderis a multitrack digital recorder capable of recording 2 channels simultaneously for up to 8 channels total. The DP-03SD records 16-bit/44.1 kHz resolution audio to SD/SDHC cards and can export your mix to your computer via USB.

The unit has 2 mic/line selectable XLR inputs in addition to dual 1/4" line ins, one of which can function as an instrument input for direct recording of guitar or bass. 8 channel faders and 1 master fader provide hands-on mixing, while built-in EQ, compression, and reverb help you shape your tracks. Additionally, the DP-03SD has a built-in tuner and metronome. A 4GB SD card and power supply are included.

A: There is no CD burner available in the DP-24SD. You are able to record to SD memory card or out via USB to a computer.

A: You can bounce to a final stereo track for the song you are working on and then connect the recorder to your computer using a separately available USB cable to get the file burned to CD. A: Probably. You can export tracks on the DP-01 as wave files, putting them in the wave folder, then import the wav files in to the DP-32SD using the Audio depot folder.

[4.5 lb] I grabbed one of these in BH's clearance section and couldn't believe my luck when it arrived. Absolutely pristine. Mic preamps are very good, built-in condensers also are good. Menu options are easy to navigate and self-explanatory. The manual is well-written and relatively easy to understand. I avoided home recording for years because I wanted cassette simplicity and digital quality, and this delivers in spades. Faders and knobs are sure and quiet. Construction overall is great. Two XLR or 1/4 inputs, the reverb sounds great, EQ controls shape the sound well. The unit has phantom power, which is great because I record with a CAD195 and an AT2020 as well as various dynamic mics. They all sound fantastic. I haven't used the onboard tuner but it's nice they included one. If you are looking for a unit to actually record on, as opposed to messing around with an array of effects which you can get anywhere else, this is your mixer. I'm impressed every time I turn it on. So far I have recorded mostly voice and acoustic guitar and it handles these well with a lot of clarity and as I mentioned, the preamps are really good. The SD card shipped with the unit is 2GB, and the only thing you'll want to do is get a bigger one. I've found that it fills up quickly. Make sure you choose wisely. Tascam does specify which cards are recommended. I think this info is available on line too. Overall, not only a 5/5 to Tascam but to BH as well for fast shipping and a great price. 5

[6x Reverb] I was pleasantly surprised by the fast delivery. I used to have a TEAC 4 track tape recorder and it was marvelous. This Tascam is idiot friendly and sounds phenomenal! The internal mic sound is crystal clear (even with cheap earphones). I am still familiarizing myself with all the functions; but so far, so great. :) Money well spent. 5

[8] This recorder works well and is surprisingly easy to operate. The pan and reverb are a plus. I like the way that one track can easily be recorded over (replaced) while listing to other tracks. It is not battery operated like the Tascam DP 008ex. I bought one for my son and he enjoys the portability of it. They are very similar in their operation. I am very pleased with both products and would recommend them both if you are looking for quality and ease of operation for a reasonable price. 5

[2x Knob] - I bought the Tascam DP 03sd coz I am fond of singing. After browsing through many products available on the market, including the interfaces available like Focusrite Scarlet and similar ones, I decided to go with this. - Having manual controls feels good. You can layer and mix different tracks together and get creative. - Internal mics inbuilt in the product sound amazing as well. - Its a great buy and highly recommended. 5
