[1x DC Barrel] This cable is more than adequate for my needs. I use it as an auxiliary power supply off the NRG transformer I use for my Sony DSR-250. The only drawback is that it doesn't use heavy-duty cable. It's simply two-pole, almost zip-cord. I don't know how rugged it will prove to be. 5

[2.1 mm] I wanted an alternative way to power my Sound Devices 633 recorder, without having to use my huge Cine VCLX battery, or Ac power adapter, to get 12-14 volts. I use Sony BP-u batteries on my camera, and they are 14 volts, so it seemed like a logical choice. I bought this Dolgin EX-V, and connected to a Hirose 4 pin to XLR cable, and plugged it into my 633, using a Sony BP-u60 battery. It works! So now, I have an additional 14V power source! 5
