Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How come there is a big difference in battery life specs between B&H and Radiopopper?B&H stated: Battery Life: Approx. 100 hours total power-on timeRadiopopper stated: Battery Life: Approx 8-10 Hours total power-on time

A: It is a web error and the batteries last on the receiver about 8-10 hours.

Q: 2. Will this work with Phottix Odin receievers (not Odin II)?

A: No,; the meter operates on the Strato II frequencies.

Q: 3. Will this control power on Nikon SB 900?

A: Yes it will.

Q: 4. Can this Jr2 transmitter trigger Jrx receiver?

A: I think it can, but the folks at Radio Popper are super helpful I would call them to verify!

Q: 5. Any issues with this working with Sony a7rII?

A: Unable to answer. Using Canon equipment. So far excellent.

Q: 6. How come there is a big difference in battery life specs between B&H and Radiopopper?B&H stated: Battery Life: Approx. 100 hours total power-on timeRadiopopper stated: Battery Life: Approx 20 Hours total power-on time

A: It is a web error and the batteries last on the transmitter can last about 20 hours.

Q: 7. Will this trigger a Norman 200C flash?

A: You can check the compatibility by going to the Jr2 site and you will find the list of flashes it will trigger.

Q: 8. Does this unit provide connection to Broncolor Grafit & Verso power packs equipped with original RFS system?

A: I contacted Sekonic concerning your inquiry. According to Sekonic, the original RFS receiver found in the older packs such as the older Broncolor Grafit A4 RFS Power Pack and the Broncolor Verso A2 RFS Power Pack work on 900 Hz radio frequency. The new transmitters/receivers which are found in the newer kits work on RFS 2/2.1/2.2, which use the 2.4 GHz radio frequency. As such, the newer radios cannot directly communicate with the older wireless radio system, and the Sekonic RT-BR Broncolor Transmitter Module would not talk to the power packs you own. As a work-around, you may purchase a Broncolor RFS 2 Receiver, B&H # BRRFS2R, and connect it to the sync terminal on your older power packs. While you will not have power control capability, you will be able to trigger the older power packs from a Sekonic meter with the installed RT-BR Broncolor transmitter module.

Q: 9. How do I select that I want this for canon camera? It says canon or Nikon optional but doesn't give the option to choose between the two. Does it somehow work for both? I added to cart and even then dos not give me the option to select canon or Nikon.

A: The JR2 transmitter actually works for both Nikon or Canon without changing any settings. The transmitter is triggered only by the center contact on the hotshoe. It doesn't use any of the proprietary contacts that communicate TTL exposure. You manually control flash output by manipulating the settings on the transmitter. The JR2 transmitter will allow you to use Nikon speedlights with Canon body or vice versa or even to mix Nikon and Canon and third-party speedlights in the same shot.

Q: 10. does this transmitter work with the power lights 1250 DR

A: The PocketWizard PlusX Transceiver B&H # WIPWPX can trigger the built in Pocket Wizard receiver in the PL1250DR monolight.

[3.3 VDC] I didn't think the day would come! This little gadget makes lighting life just a little simpler. I used to rely on the mobile app or the button on the RFS trigger. Both were ok but a little cumbersome for me. Measuring and triggering with one hand is much better.

[3.3 VDC] I purchased this module for my Sekonic L-858D-U Speedmaster that I purchased last year from B&H. I thought it would be a “plug and play” type item. It was not. The current firmware in my Speedmaster would not recognize this module. The good folks at B&H directed me to Sekonic.com where I was able to download the “Data Transfer Software” and then installed the firmware to support this module. Being a beginning photographer, I also downloaded the detailed users manual for this module. My Speedmaster now works as advertised. I love it! Thank you B&H for you help and patience!

[200' (61 m)] A perfect pairing to the Jr2 transmitter. Now includes a hot-shoe! Easy visual controls to set group & channel. Works flawlessly. Now using AA batteries is a huge plus over the more expensive CR123.

[4 x 3.5 x 0.01"] Since Covid happened I've been on a really tight budget but this is well worth every red cent. I've been only shooting portraits and without this module it's been a lot of running back and forth for HSS but with this, I set my transmitters on APP and now the meter sets my transmitters. All I do now is go behind my camera, check my settings and shoot. This module is a win win tool, especially if you shoot with HSS.

[200' (61 m)] I have 4 Godox strobes + a couple of flash units. I used the Elinchrom transmitter in the lightmeter with several Rotolights previously and couldn't wait for the Godox transmitter. Have been using it extensively since it arrived a few weeks ago and it works flawlessly.
