The Solid Drive SD-250 Mini Amplifier | Compact Audio Solutionfrom Solid Drive SD-250 Mini Amplifier | Compact Audio Solutionis a 50W per channel (8 ohm) Class D amplifier with maximum gain of 34 dB. Input options include balanced stereo Euroblock, unbalanced line level mini jack, and a stereo speaker level (amplified) Euroblock input for applications with low wattage speaker outputs. The SD-250 has three operating modes: stereo, dual mono, or bridged mono. In stereo, each input channel flows directly to its corresponding output channel. The amplifier has three preset EQ settings for use with a SolidDrive speaker in drywall, glass and wood. It also has a flat setting for unequalized full-range amplification. In dual mono, the left input is fed to both output channels. In bridged mono, the left input is fed to the bridged output (4-8 ohms only). This system includes selectable 12 - 32V external trigger input or auto standby to conserve energy.

A: Not sure. We use this dock to back up (and occasionally retrieve) individual project files before deleting from our server. For that it works great.

A: This dock will act like a USB drive. Accessing files on the drives will be based on the file system of the computer and the disks.

Q: 6. This states that in the description that it has a USB-C type 1 interface and then later it says that it has a USB-C type 2 interface. Which one is it?

A: It is a USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection using the Via Labs VL820 chipset.

Q: 7. Does this dock support TRIM for SSDs?

A: Support for TRIM is based on the operating system and the SSD manufacturer. Currently, there is no information about TRIM support for the OWC Drive Dock USB Type-C Dual Drive Bay Solution

Q: 8. Have there been any issues or reports of random drive disconnections with this USB type c version of this dock on Mac OSX? I have seen (and experienced first hand) random unclean drive ejections with the thunderbolt 2 version of this dock.

A: This product has a very low return rate and I have not seen a problem with sudden drive ejections.

Q: 9. Also supports SATA 1 and 2 HDDs?

A: SATA III is backwards compatible to SATA I and II. However you will get lower speeds when using the older technology.

Q: 10. Could this work to power 4 Freespace DS 16F speakers? Thx

A: The Bose Professional FreeSpace DS 16F 2.25" 16W Passive Loudspeaker has transformer taps for 70V and 100V connections, as well as an 8-ohm bypass setting that specifies 16W RMS and 64W peak for each speaker. The Bose Professional FreeSpace IZA 250-LZ Integrated Zone Amplifier specifies 2 channels of speaker output offering 25W at 8 ohms, or 50W at 4 ohms. You could potentially squeeze in two DS 16F speakers on each channel if you wired them in parallel, which would create a 32W RMS load at 4 ohms. Ideally you would want to use an amplifier offering more adequate output power for this model and quantity of speakers.

[32 VDC, 3.75 A] If you have the need to mount bare drives to your system, this dock works perfectly. I connect it to my CalDigit TS3 Plus hub (MacBook Pro) and it works perfectly. Having 2 bays that you can use simultaneously is a nice touch too. The interface seems to get the drives' expected speeds. Love the USB-C interface! 5

[20 Hz - 20 kHz] I ordered this audio amplifier at the recommendation of a local audio/video store. Our office space had an old player from the 1900's that finally died on us. This new one took me less than 10 minutes to get up and running. The audio output sounds great! I would highly recommend for a small office. 5

[> 83 dB (50 W)] I got this today and it works great with my cell phone, it even came with a 3.5mm to 3.5 mm cable for cellular use...I was surprised..also do yourself a favor..install the gain jumpers as stated in the directions..it will give you more audio on a noisy day. HTH 5

[20 Hz - 20 kHz] This is my first time buying a drive dock and so far I'm very impressed! I know that it has so much more capability than I am currently using it for, but I am happy using it with Sandisk 8TB Barracuda HDD drive for backup storage for all my hard drives. 5
