Q: 1. can i use the gitzo ball head with the wimberly side kick?

A: Yes they work very well together. My largest zoom lens is a Tamron 150 to 600 millimeter. There are only two small problems I've noticed. I mount everything with ARCA Swiss style mounting plate. These all have to be tighten very well. Otherwise where the sidekick bolts to the mounting plate of the ball head , and of course the ball head mounting plate is at right angles so therefore vertical. In this condition if things are not tight the sidekick can start sliding that is to say rotating where the head meets the mounting plate. If it is sufficiently tightened it's not an issue. Secondly, since this system does not have the capability to balance like a fall Wimberley head, and the fact that this lens extends as you zoom, perfect balance in any position is not possible. Although the offset weight is not hardly noticeable. I would highly recommend it! It's half the cost half the size have to wait. Less stuff in your equipment bag is always a good thing.

Q: 2. Will a battery grip get in the way of the ballhead/sidekick when the lens/camera is pointed up?

A: My battery grip hits the ball head...and at not too sharp an angle up. The solution in the instructions involves tilting the Sidekick from it's standard orientation= vertical, by loosening the main ballhead. Not the panning knob, but the main ballhead. And then simple tilt the Sidekick towards you if you want to shoot up more (higher elevation), or away from you if you want to shoot down. Lock the ballhead down once you have the elevation where you want it. Doing this you can shoot point up as much as you want...of course, you won't be able to shoot down now unless you readjust the ballhead to return the sidekick to vertical or even past vertical to shoot down at a steep angle. None of this changes the total range of motion between up and down. It changes where that range is expressed. Normal up and down with the sidekick vertical, mostly up with the sidekick leaning towards you, or mostly down with the sidekick leaning away from you. In all 3 of these orientations, the ball head quick release joint is sitting at the bottom of the cut out "U". You don't lift it off the bottom to tilt the sidekick...just to be clear. Loosen the ballhead and you could spin the sidekick upside down while the quick release of the ballhead stayed at the bottom of the "U".

Q: 3. Which ball head will the Sidekick work with a Manfrotto 055CXPRO3 Tripod? Will it work with the Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate or the Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head Kit with 200PL-14 and 200PL Quick Release Plates? I shoot with a Nikon D500 with a 200-500 lens.

A: Yes, the Sidekick only works with Arca Swiss compatible ball heads, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/3buILDy It iwll not work with a head that uses a 200pl plate.

Q: 4. Will it fit the Promedia Gear Gk Jr Katana Junior Gimbal ?

A: Yes, it will fit.

Q: 5. I have Nikon 200-500 with the RRS collar and foot. Does this foot fit perfectly tight on the Sidekick?

A: Yes, fully compatible.

Q: 6. Will this work on Benro B5 ball Head??

A: Yes, it is compatible with the Benro B5 head.

Q: 7. are any adapters needed for the nikon 200-500mm f/5.6?

A: You will need an Arca Swiss style mounting plate.

Q: 8. Can I use RRS bh-55 with leaver-release clamp with sidekick but without ak-100?

A: I use the Sidekick on a bh-40 head lever clamp style, with a Nikon 200-500 f5.6 and the Kirk collar which has an arca foot. Fit is secure without the adapter. If you have a lens collar that doesn’t come with a good arca foot, then the adapter would be a good choice.

Q: 9. I presently have a Benro A1192TB0 Travel Flat II Tripod. Will this gimbal head work with it?

A: While I am not familiar with your tripod, it has the appropriate fitting on top of the ball. It should work.

Q: 10. I have a tripod with the Benro IB2 Triple Action Ball Head on it. Is the Wimberley Sidekick compatible with this ballhead? I will be using a Nikon D500 with a 200-500mm lens with it. Thanks for any input!

A: Yes the Wimberley will be compatible with the ball head.

[Cinch cord] I just took delivery of this bag about a week ago. Seems well assembled. Stitching is clean, drawstring closure is a nice feature, and the gimbal fits nicely (I use a second, smaller bag for the platform). But, it hasn't been out in the field yet. I'll add another review in a couple of months after it's been exposed to real world use. So far, so good.

[0.27 lb] Does what it says and does it well. I was leaving my tripod and
Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base
in a blind every day for 35 days while trying to get pictures of wild turkey and the area this protected never once got damp or dirty. They are very well made. I would not hesitate to buy one again if needed.

[Neoprene] This pouch seems like it will work fine for what I need, which is for covering the gimbal while I'm in the woods hiking and it's attached to my backpack.

[Neoprene] I keep a lot of my stuff in a plastic crate and this pouch gives protection to both the gimbal head and the stuff in the crate so it's not just bouncing around in there. Fits a little tight due to the angle of the ARCA plate, but wasn't that hard to get on.

[0.27 lb] This is made by LensCoat and is neoprene. I use it with my Katana Pro and it fits, and provides extra padding over the bag that came with the gimbal.
