Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced the modelling lamp with an LED light bulb? I imagine you could get a lot more light output from an LED bulb, especially a cree bulb. I understand it would have to be the dimmable variety...

A: It has not been tested by the manufacture. It is not recommended to do that as you can damage the electronics if there is a compatibility issue.

Q: 2. Are these lights tungsten or daylight ( 5500K). Can I use my Nikon on auto white or have to balance?

A: Strobe lights are typically daylight-balanced. You would either use the daylight-balanced or flash-balanced white balance preset on your camera, or you would use the Custom White Balance setting to set a custom white balance. Auto White Balance is not recommended for strobe usage.

Q: 3. How many strobes. How many soft boxes in the kit.? Modeling lights?

A: This kit would include two Impact EX 100 monolights, two softboxes with speed rings, two sync cables, two power cords, flashtube/modeling lamp for each head, a reflector for each head, spare fuses for each head, Impact 8 ft light stands and a 1 year warranty on each head. The only thing not included in this kit is a bag.

Q: 4. Does this light unit have a slave so that both lights flash at the same time?

A: Both lights do. Each plugs into the wall separately and a supply synch cord plugs ininto one of thelights you chose. When the shutter goefires that light and the other light fires through the slave trigger works greats the light plugged into the one light

Q: 5. In the list of accessories included with this kit theres a Dedicated EX100A SpeedringCan this speedring be used with softboxes made by other softbox manufacturers?

A: Unfortunately, the speed ring included in this kit would be limited to use with the included softboxes.

Q: 6. Hi, which exactly is the Mini to PC Synch Cord? Could you send me a link?I have a canon 650D and i'm not pretty sure if i can manage these lights from my camera.Thanks.

A: A mini to PC sync cord would allow a camera with a sync terminal to be connected to these lights. Please see the following link for an example of the cable: a href= http://bhpho.to/1qtaQvJ. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1qtaQvJ./a As for use with the Canon 650D, you would need a hotshoe to PC sync adapter to use these monolights. Please see the link for the adapter: a href= http://bhpho.to/1jT4Cko target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1jT4Cko/a

Q: 7. I have a Pentax K3II and a Sigma 610 DG Super flash. I want to know how to do to be able to connect a flash strobe kit through a radio trigger. Which ones would be compatible for my K3II in order to be able to make the strobes functional and, if possible, also to use the Sigma? What do you recommend buying in addition to this kit?

A: I would recommend purchasing the Vello FreeWave LR Kit with 2 Receivers, B&H # VERFWLRK, for your usage needs. The Impact Two Monolight Kit (220V), B&H # IMEX100A2LKX, has a 1/8 (3.5mm) miniphone sync terminal on the rear of the strobe monolight. The Vello FreeWave LR Kit comes with a miniphone to miniphone cable, so you may connect the Vello FreeWave LR receiver to the Impact monolight. The receiver also has a hot shoe on the top of the unit, onto which you may mount the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash. As the kit I listed above comes with two receivers, you may connect one receiver to the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash, and one to one of the monolights in the Impact monolight kit. As the Impact monolights have built-in optical slaves, the unit without the Vello receiver will trigger when it sees the light output from the light fixture with the receiver. Do note the output of the Sigma EF 610 DG Super Flash will have to be set manually when using this setup. There is no option that will work and retain TTL automatic flash capability with this setup.

Q: 8. what is the power source?

A: The lights include a 120VAC power cord which is a regular USA household plug.

Q: 9. I have a Nikon D3300, Do I need to buy the PowerTrigger transmitter in order to make the Flash work? Or the sync cord will do the job.

A: I am not familiar with Nikon but I can tell you that the sync cord works with my Canon DSLR. As long as there is an outlet on the side of the camera, which there should be, it should work fine.

Q: 10. Will this strobe work with 3rd party modifiers, or only the supplied softboxes?

A: That model strobe uses the Elinchrom mount also called EX. There are a few different manufactures that make modifiers with that mount, Elinchrom, Impact and Interfit. Note to be careful when picking it out that it is the correct mount. Impact and Interfit make different mounts not just EX.

[Yes] We use the screen in our church sanctuary once or twice a month. Installing it was an adventure with the weight and length, but several sections of scaffolding and a couple friends made the install move along nicely. The instructions for wiring were right on and it worked first try! The image is right on and visible the entire length of our viewing area (over 100').

[220 VAC/50 Hz] We installed this in a rehabbed church space that's now a contemporary art gallery flush mounted it to an exposed beam and it looks and works great. That said, it's only been about a week, so maybe I'll report back later if I have any complaints! I was surprised that, for its length, there are only 2 mounting holes on either end, so I fear that it may sag over time. But again, too soon to tell. Where it does mount in those 2 places, it's on a solid plastic end cap/brace, so it seems like it will hold up well. It weighs about 85 pounds, so we had 3 people to install. We had to go about 17 feet up to the beam, we leveled, marked and pre-drilled & drove lag bolts into the beam and then used two extension ladders on either side to climb and carefully slide the projection screen/case up on the ladder's rails. Our 3rd person was on a 10ft ladder in the middle and was there as a spotter for extra support. It was then quite easy to hook it on to the lag bolts once we slid it to the top. All in all, it's an easy install, we opened the box and had the job done in less than 4 hours. Just be sure you have the wiring supplies and the proper mounting hardware and you'll have no problem!

[150 degrees] We use the electrol screens almost exclusively in close to a 100 locations. They are versatile and durable.

[Front] The screen was simple to mount (we used lag bolts and attached the screen to a wall.) The screen did not come with instructions on how to install the switch for a 120v motor...complicated the electrical install was inconsistent wire colors on the switch and the screen. After consulting an electrician and enduring his derision for working with this product - he correctly intuited the correct wiring configuration. A big thanks to the customer service at B&H. We ordered the screen 2 weeks from a graduation. The shipper lost the screen for nearly a week, without informing us. I contacted the shipper, who responded with a long distance shoulder shrug - explaining they would look for it again. Unable to motivate the shipper, I called B&H - they got involved, and the screen was in my driveway 36 hours later. Thanks B&H.

[16:10] After correspondence with B&H on product lines and availability , I selected the cinema contour to marry up with the projector specifications that were needed. It also worked well with the acoustic demands of the in wall speakers hidden behind it . The result was spot on. Excellent price coupled with exceptional performance. B&H got the job done. Pro service for pro contractors.

[Yes] This Screen was easy to install. It took 3 people and 2 ladders to get the job done. The remote is really not needed but i opted to install it as well. The motor runs really smooth. The screen is nice and wide. A really good buy.

[Yes] I use it in a classroom at a university. It's got a great surface, brilliant white, big and more than I expected. It looks like a big LCD screen on the wall, way cool.
