A: No, a splitter may not work properly with headphones since the CMX-1-V2 is a passive mixer that outputs a mic level signal while headphones need a line level signal. The headphone volume would be very low. As a better option, you may want to consider something like the Comica Audio CVM-AX3 Dual-Channel Audio Mixer for DSLRs (B&H# COCVMAX3) which is a two-channel mixer that is powered by a 9V battery and includes many more features that you may find useful, including a dedicated headphone jack. Its two XLR inputs can supply phantom power and also accommodate 1/4" TRS jacks.
