A: It looks like there is an error on the specs, the Buffalo 8TB LinkStation 220 Personal Cloud Storage NAS Drive BH #BULS220D0802 does include 2 x 4TB drives. I have submitted the web error to our web team and it should be updated as soon as possible. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[20 to 80%] The instructions and software included make it easy to set up. I like it because it is USB 3.0 and is not very large - so it fits nicely on a shelf.

[20 to 80%] Would have paid nearly the same amount of money buying just the disk drives. This package is great. Plug and play. Easy to switch between Raid 0 and Raid 1. If you need disk space this is a great way to get it.

[20 to 80%] I am a professional photographer and use The Buffalo Drive Array to store my photographs. In the past, I was concerned about the possible complexity of using an external Raid system, and wouldn't purchase one. Well, to my surprise, it is just as easy to use as a single external drive. An icon shows up on my desktop, I double click it to open it up, and drag in my folders. Nice and easy, and I'm comfortable that my files are backed up on 2 drives. Oh, and the auto shut-off very nice.

[20 to 80%] I've been looking for a way to move most of my data off my local hard drive and decided to go with something that could run Raid 1 for redundancy. Setup was very simple and the drive has performed as expected so far. I haven't tried to run any performance tests but moving the roughly 1 TB of data took a while -- which I expected. The only problem that I have is that I don't have a USB 3 port from the docking station for my laptop so am running it on the slower USB 2. It's unfortunate that the DriveStation didn't have other port options but I knew that when I purchased it. We'll see how it holds up but as of now I'd recommend it as a very affordable (and simple) option if you want to run a Raid 0 or 1 setup and don't want a NAS. For my purposes, I wanted something directly connected to the machine and this was the most affordable option I could find.

[20 to 80%] I needed a redundant way to back-up my picture files. (I just had a hard drive fail) The Buffalo system does it automatically. I had a little trouble setting it up but a call to customer service took care of the problem. Their rep. talked me through the setup and it has worked as advertised.

[20 to 80%] Purchased my first Buffalo as a Raid 1 storage drive for my photography around 2012. Had good luck with THAT one, so I decided on getting a 6 TB version of the same external drive set up on Raid1, as my older drive was a 4TB raid1 device giving me a net of 2TB of storage, and it was now FULL! So I've activated this new 6TB drive also on Raid 1, which gives me 3TB of new redundant and safe storage capability. I trust the reliability of these external drives!!

[20 to 80%] I bought this through another retailer, but wanted to hop on and let everyone know that even though Windows 8 has some compatibility issues with some external hard drives (i.e. Hitachi/HGST) This unit is working flawlessly in Raid 1 mode on my Windows 8 system.

[20 to 80%] This device is very helpful in performing backups. I have tried the BlackArmor from Seagate and have had performance issues and failures. This device has exceeded my expectations.

[20 to 80%] I bought 3 of these for downloading P2 cards to while on the road. They've been great! I'm editing on one right now with Media Composer 6. My project is on the Buffalo Tech drive and I even consolidated my media to the same drive which I realize is not a best practice. Don't try to edit with this going down the highway. The bumping will cause the drive to dismount. I tried that out of desperation to turn something a little quicker. The drive was fine, but I didn't push it once I realized what was happening. Persisting would surely have caused the drive to fail. Sorry to hear about the other guy's luck. It's a good thing his data wasn't worth more than the drive. Given what I do I could care less about the drive or it's monetary value. The data on it is what's valuable and I'm really happy with this drive after using it hard for a year and a half. Take care of your gear and your gear will take care of you.
