With the Ubiquiti NanoStation locoM 5GHz Indoor Outdoor CPEfrom Ubiquiti Networks, you can provide your clients with reliable long-range network connections. Designed to support both Point-to-MultiPoint (PtMP) and Point-to-Point (PtP) configurations, this Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) loco station features a panel antenna with dual-polarity 13 dBi gain to communicate with wireless devices over the 5 GHz signal band frequency. It also includes a 560 MHz Atheros MIPS 74Kc processor with 64MB of DDR2 memory and 8MB of flash storage, which can all be powered by connecting the included power-over-Ethernet (PoE) adapter to the 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet port to carry both data and power over a single cable. With its UV-stabilized plastic enclosure, the airMAX NanoStationloco M2 may be attached onto a pole with the included mount. Use the airOS software to configure and manage the airMAX NanoStationlocoM and its connected devices.

Unlike standard Wi-Fi protocol, Ubiquiti's Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using predesignated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller.

This "time slot" method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency. It provides performance improvements in latency, throughput, and scalability compared to other outdoor systems in its class.

Remote hardware reset circuitry of the NanoStationlocoM allows the device to be remotely reset from the power supply location.

Priority is given to voice/video for seamless streaming.

The airMAX NanoStationlocoM is capable of high-speed carrier-class links.

Multiple features help to significantly reduce noise.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Do the nanobeams have to be paired with the same exact model or can you pair a gen2 with a gen1?

A: I have gen2 and gen1 mixed. Both linked to a Rocket AC. Just choose a frequency that is in range for all of your devices.

Q: 2. Point to Multi-Point, how wide is the "beam" at ~1,000'? How far apart can I place receivers to send and receive data back to the "base station". Will Nanostations on the remote locations work at this distance in this configuration?

A: Litebeam is a 1:1 bridge. You would need to use a LTU or AirMAX multipoint to have multiple receivers.

Q: 3. So whats the difference between this model and the ( air grid ) AG-HP-5G27 Does this model have the 30Km range and 27dbi ?

A: This model has 23db gain. In order for 30km of line of sight you would need to have a tower in the 250' high range.

Q: 4. So, do I need 2 of these antennas to make the bridge?

A: Yes, it is needed to have two TP-Link CPE710 5 GHz Wireless-AC867 Outdoor CPE. One unit will be configured in Client Mode, and the second unit will be configured in AP Mode.

Q: 5. Whats the distance on these puppies?

A: According to the manufacturer its 15km+.

Q: 6. How would you mount this to the roofline of a detached garage? Facia or soffit mount? How? What bracket?

A: In order to mount the Ubiquiti Networks NanoStation AC loco 5 GHz airMAX ac Radio BH #UBLOCO5AC, to the roofline of a detached garage, you can use a mount like the Ubiquiti Networks Quick-Mount for Ubiquiti CPE Devices, B&H # UBQUICKMOUNT.

Q: 7. The signal meter on the side of Nanobeam...does that assist for maximum signal pairing?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Are these weather resistant? Installation on roof of two separate buildings?

A: Yes, these are weather resistant. These require 2 radios to work, send and receive.

Q: 9. Can the front of the dome be painted dark ???

A: Painting it will void the warranty but you can do it as long as you are comfortable with that and don't use metallic paint. Ideally using paint for plastic, spraying it will work better than brushing it.

Q: 10. Do these come with mates or do I have to buy each individually?

A: The NBE-5AC-GEN2 NanoBeam are sold individually but are used in pairs to form a point-to-point outdoor wireless connection.

[17 to 23 dBm] the WIFI is long reaching and is a durable product that can last years in outdoor conditions

WIFI goes for a long range in a narrow beam straight out of the device making it perfect for getting those hard to reach areas covered

[17 to 23 dBm] Worked to go several hundred feet between house and barn. I was surprised to see how well it connected, and how easy it was to setup.

[5 GHz] Ubiquiti is so easy to use and such a great product for the price. Love them!! Just wish they had tech support and better training opportunities!

[5 GHz] These are slightly different from the Nanostation 5AC. These require configuration from a wired connection. Once configured, they were used to connect 3 remote ip cameras back to the network. The units were roughly 450 ft apart, but connected with excellent stability very quickly.

[Internal] Great shipping service, on time and tracking notifications.
B&H is now on our radar for purchasing over Amazon hands down. Great experience!

[5 GHz] I have used Ubiquiti AirOS devices for many years. They are fairly simple to set up, given their flexibility and work well.

This is (currently) the cheapest in the range. I have a pair of them in use to provide an Internet connection to my Pole Barn. The barn is about 50yds from the house. Just a bit too far to reliably run cable. Fiber would be a good option, apart from the obstacles that would need to be overcome to actually run it. Much easier to just set up a pair of these. Somewhat overkill for the distance, but turn down the power and I have a 300/300 Mbps link to the barn, which is more than enough for my needs.
