[1.55 lb] I'm not an expert by any means but these are the best small form factor near-fields I've ever heard. If you have very little space to work with these are the answer. The sweet spot is nice and wide and carries really well without being overly loud. Combine this with the sub to round out the bottom end and it's short of stunning for a setup of this size. You will not be disappointed.

[1.55 lb] Had the audioengine 2's and wasn't satisfied, moved up to the 5's and found them worse - muddy all across the midrange, overly boomy bass, completely muffled vocals, etc. Wanted something clear and precise, and was willing to sacrifice bass to get it.

I picked these up because of the brand's reputation, thinking I'd pair them with a small subwoofer and get better full frequency response than getting the 8020s (or even 8030s) alone. But I was BLOWN AWAY by the low end. No, it's not going to rattle the windows with its power, but the notes are reproduced in the music. I can't believe how good this sounds with professionally mastered music and movies. It thunders when necessary! And one of the best things is that it shows you, right away, how far away your mix is. A good mix sounds amazing. A quicky mix you've done in ableton... sounds horrible. That's exactly what you want from a studio monitor. I've in love and only wish I had picked these up 8 years ago instead of screwing around with junk monitors. I used to joke that these are the only monitors you see at every international art exhibition using sound, but now I know why. I have the space for a subwoofer at my desk studio, but now I seriously doubt I'm going to get one... at least for the time being. 5 stars.

[1.55 lb] I've been stuck in the KRK loop for about a decade now. This is my first pair of Genelecs and I am blown away! Sure, they don't have the low-end presence of larger speakers, but the clarity and separation is on a whole other level! I am hearing my favorite music in a new way through these monitors and I cannot wait to use them for critical listening in my own work as well. Every instrument feels like it has it's own space and I am noticing little delights that I have never noticed in my favorite music. What a dream!

[1.55 lb] Typical of Genelec, this bag fits the bill perfectly. The pockets are good for a small monitor controller and short cables. Although not listed these fit the 8020D monitors as well. The zips are solid and the small platform that fits inside the bottom adds a lot of stability to the bag. There is a sectional as well to keep the devices from crashing into each other during transport so your Gennys will be well protected.

[1.55 lb] As a long time user of KRK and Yamaha studio monitors -,I was blown away by the Sound reproduction of the 8010s! ..These little marvels have now replaced both my Yamaha HS5 and KRK rockit 5”s as my go to mixing monitors for music and film projects .,, could not be happier ..

[1.55 lb] For the money these are incredible. I couldn't believe how much better that they sound than the old crappy speakers that I was previously using.

[1.55 lb] Genelec 8010s has the best sound in such a compact package. I find the Senal PMC-II controller to be very useful to be an intermediary connection between my Rodecaster Pro and my pair of Genelec 8010s. The mute button and the attenuation know are very useful. Regarding the speaker stands, they are much too large for the Genelec 8010 but I consider this a give away being thrown in the package that I can use in the future.

[1.55 lb] Great fresh sound and a nice alternative to the Adam A7X's I use at home...I used them a couple of weeks but the lack of bass got to me (the 8010 goes down to only 65hz, just a little shy of solid bass response) so I bought the matching sub woofer and the grouping is now complete, full. The tilt on the speakers are a bit shy of sufficient for desk top use so I took the styrofoam packing from the boxes, stacked them and I sit the 8010's in them and now the aim towards me ears is perfect (see the attached photo). For portability I can't think of a better speaker. They're road worthy with a solid construction.

[1.55 lb] I own the much larger and expensive 8030s but needed desktop speakers for my PC laptop. The sound from these is incredible and the build quality is awesome. I doubt there is a better desktop speaker available. Only issue to deal with - XLR connectors - you'll need to find a low profile male XLR to 3.5mm male Y connector cable. Be careful to pick one where the XLR plugs don't stick out too far since clearance is limited. I found one on eBay that works. The Microphone Madness one I purchased with these was a little long and the wire would bend a little too close to the plug end.
